The i attached map depicts the location and sizes of existing and planned sewer lines in the area. SOLID WASTE Solid-waste collection will be provided to existing residents after five years as per State law as long as the current provider can match the City's rates and level of service or when the existing collector chooses to discontinue service. New customers will be serviced by the City, which, through a joint use agreement, utilizes the Shasta County West Central Landfill located near Igo. It is expected that the City will utilize the County's landfill for a period of thirty years. In addition, a site selection study and EIR are currently being prepared for construction of a solid waste transfer station and recycling facility in west Redding.
