A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
ORDERING THE VACATION AND ABANDONMENT OF A PORTION OF A
STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE INTERSECTION OF
CATERPILLAR ROAD AND TWIN VIEW BOULEVARD, ADJACENT TO
PROPERTY LOCATED AT 5292 CATERPILLAR ROAD (A-13-87) .
WHEREAS, proceedings have been duly conducted and held in
accordance with the provisions of the Public Streets, Highways
and Service Easements Vacation Law, Streets and Highways Code
8300 , et seq. ; and
WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Redding finds and

determines that the hereinafter described real property is not
necessary, subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, for
present or prospective street purposes;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Redding
hereby resolves and orders as follows:
1 . That the City Council makes the following findings in
connection herewith:
(a) The project is compatible with the Redding General
Plan;
(b) The project will not significantly alter the
existing _land form;
(c) The project is compatible with the surrounding
land use; and
(d) The project is compatible with the Redding
Municipal Code.
2 . That that certain real property in the City of Redding,
a
County of Shasta, State of California, being a portion of a

street right-of--way on the west side of the intersection of.
Caterpillar Road and Twin View Boulevard, adjacent to property
located at 5292 Caterpillar Road, as the same is more parti-
cularly described in Exhibit "A" and illustrated on the map
attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, be and the
same is hereby vacated and abandoned as a street right-of-way,
subject to the following conditions:
a. Necessary easements shall be granted to the City of
Redding for overhead and underground facilities.
b. At the time of development of the adjacent property for
any use, the property owner shall construct vertical
curb, gutter, and sidewalk, and install the necessary
aggregate base and asphalt concrete surfacing between
the gutter and the travelled lane for the length of the
frontage along Caterpillar Road, Twin View Boulevard,
and the southwest corner of the rounding of Mason
Street and Caterpillar Road.
C . Excepting and reserving therefrom, pursuant to the
provisions of Section 8340 of the Street and Highways
Code and for the benefit of Pacific Bell Company, the
permanent easement and the right at any time or from
time-to-time to construct, maintain, operate, replace,
remove, renew and enlarge lines of pipe, conduits ,
cable, wires, poles and other convenient structures,
equipment and fixtures for the operation of telegraphic
and telephone lines and other communication facilities,
including access and the right to keep the property
free from inflammable materials and wood growth, and
otherwise protect the same from all hazards, in, upon,
over and across that portion of Twin View Boulevard
abandoned.
d. The abandonment shall provide for a 10-foot public
electrical service easement for the purpose of
maintaining the existing overhead facility; the 10-foot
easement is described as five feet on each side of the
existing pole line.
e. The existing CATV pole line shall be maintained,
includina the easement.

f. Prior to executing a Resolution of Abandonment,
evidence shall be submitted to the City of Redding to
verify that the abandoned area and the adjoining parcel
to the west are under the same ownership.
g. A parcel map shall be recorded to show that the
abandoned area is merged with the adjacent westerly lot
owned by the applicant.
3 . The City Clerk of the City of Redding be and hereby is
directed to record a certified copy of this Resolution, attested
to by the City Clerk under the seal of the City of Redding, in
the office of the Shasta County Assessor/Recorder.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
introduced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Redding on the 7th day of January 1992 , and was
adopted at said meeting by the following vote:
