INTRODUCTION
i -
Redding enjoys a rich quality of life because of the beautiful natural environment of the Redding area and also because
of the quality and generosity of its citizens. Historically the city's residents and service clubs have generously shared
j time and resources in an effort to enhance and preserve the beauty, history and recreational activities of our
community.
ii
i In the spirit of continuing this tradition of sharing with the community, the City of Redding proudly introduces its first
Community Gift Catalogue. The purpose of the catalogue is to list needs that which otherwise might go unmet and
to give those looking for community service activities a list of ideas and areas they could consider for their
involvement.
By using this catalogue, you will enhance our beautiful parks and scenic trails, promote recreational, cultural and
educational opportunities and support public safety programs. There are gifts for every interest--from recreation and
j wildlife to science and art --however, this is not an all-inclusive list. If you have other ideas, please feel free to call
and discuss them with us.
Please consider this catalogue an invitation to become involved in sharing with your community. Your support is
needed and deeply appreciated. Each donation will be recognized and may be tax-deductible. For the community,
we thank you for your interest and hope to work with you on one or more of the ideas presented. Together we can
!i build an even better community and a safe, healthy and enjoyable environment citizens of all ages can enjoy for years
to come.

Timeless Giving
Everyone would like to make a mark, to be remembered in the community in which they live. You can make your
mark and be remembered by future generations by planning today to give your own special "timeless" gift to the
community.
A "timeless" gift allows you to influence the future of Redding in your own personal and unique way. Here are just
a few of the things your gift could accomplish:
I
- Turn undeveloped land into a beautiful park or other recreational facility
- Provide continuing enhancement of your favorite park, such as playground structures, flower beds,or drinking
fountains
- Contribute to the preservation of Redding's precious natural resources, such as the Sacramento River or Churn
Creek.
More than a gift, you will be making an investment. Through various forms of estate and financial planning, a
charitable contribution can provide financial flexibility and tax advantages that can enhance your financial status.
In addition to cash or securities, contributions can be made on a deferred basis through bequests, life insurance, or
charitable remainder trusts as well.
I
We will be happy to work with you on your gift, large or small. You can make a gift in the name of a loved one or
in your own name. All donors will receive special recognition.
