GVWR LINE TRUCK WITH DIGGER DERRICK FOR THE ELECTRIC DEPARTMENT (BID SCHEDULE 2640) ; DECLARING THAT SAID TRUCK WITH DIGGER DERRICK MAY BE ACQUIRED IN THE OPEN MARKET AT A PRICE FAVORABLE TO THE CITY; AND AUTHORIZING THE NEGOTIATION THEREOF BY THE CITY MANAGER. i i WHEREAS, the City Council called for bids for one 46,000 lb. + GVWR Line Truck with Digger Derrick for the Electric Department in Bid Schedule No. 2640; bid opening held May 19, 1992; and WHEREAS, six bids were received: the lowest from Altec Industries did not meet specifications; and all bids had problems with their bid security; and WHEREAS, it is the opinion of staff that the purchase of a 46,000 lb. GVWR Line Truck with Digger Derrick can be negotiated on the open market at a price favorable to the City; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that this matter is categorically exempt from the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding as follows: 1. The foregoing recitals are true and correct. 2. The six bids received under Bid Schedule No. 2604 are hereby rejected. 3 . It is the opinion of the City Council that the Line Truck with Digger Derrick can be obtained in the open market at a j price favorable to the City. 4. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to fi enter into negotiations and execute the necessary documentation for the purchase of said Line Truck. N N N I 5. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to { attest the signature of the City Manager and to impress the seal of the City of Redding on the aforesaid documentation, when appropriate. 6. The Finance Department is directed to carry over the currently-budgeted funds into fiscal year 1993 for the purchase of said Line Truck for the Electric Department.
