A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING AUTHORIZING AND
i' APPROVING AN ADDITIONAL EXPENDITURE OF $25,000 UNDER THE CONTRACT WITH THE
BUREAU OF RECLAMATION FOR ITS CONTINUED INSPECTION AND ADMINISTRATIVE COSTS
j; RELATED TO THE BUCKEYE TREATMENT PLANT.

WHEREAS, on January 21, 1992, the City Council authorized entering into a contract
with the Bureau of Reclamation for its engineering review, inspection, and
administrative costs related to the Buckeye Water Treatment Plant, estimated at
i� $15,000.00; and
WHEREAS, the $15,000 contract maximum has been exceeded, and additional
authorization is required to cover continued inspection of the water treatment plant and
IIS pipeline, and additional work on the contract amendment for the addition of the point of

diversion to the Spring Creek conduit; and
WHEREAS, the Bureau will be billing its staff time on a "time and materials" basis

through and including construction of the project; and
WHEREAS, Bureau personnel at Shasta Dam estimate that the upper limit cost of the
remaining inspection services will be $15,000 plus $10,000 for the contract amendment;
and
WHEREAS, funds are available in the Public Works Water Utility Account for this
work, which is required by the Bureau and can only be done by it;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redding
hereby approves and authorizes an additional expenditure of $25,000 under the City's
Contract with the Bureau of Reclamation for the Bureau's continued inspection and
'.i administrative costs related to the Buckeye Treatment Plant.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was introduced and read at a
regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Redding on the 7th day of December,
1993, and was duly adopted at said meeting by the following vote:

NOES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: None
