HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 93-361 - Pertaining to the Redding Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade to he held 12-4-93 RESOLUTION NO. 93-J4,/ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING PERTAINING TO THE REDDING CHAMBER OF COMMERCE CHRISTMAS PARADE TO BE HELD DECEMBER 4, 1993. WHEREAS, the Redding Chamber of Commerce Annual Lighted Christmas Parade in the downtown area of Redding is scheduled for December 4 , 1993 ; and WHEREAS, the Chamber of Commerce has submitted a request for parking and vehicular traffic to be prohibited along Parade Route 2 (established by Resolution No. 90-429) on December 4 , 1993 , from the hours of 3 : 30 p.m. to 9 : 00 p.m. ; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to encourage the growth and success of the Annual Lighted Christmas Parade; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that this matter is not subject to the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding: 1. THAT all of the foregoing recitals are true and correct. 2. THAT it is deemed to be in the best interests of the City to grant the request of the Redding Chamber of Commerce, and to that end the Chief of Police, in cooperation with the Director of Public Works, is directed to accomplish the following: (a) Prohibit parking and vehicular traffic along PARADE ROUTE 2 between the hours of 3 : 30 p.m. and 9: 00 p.m. on Saturday, December 4, 1993 , for the parade lineup and staging; and (b) Prohibit parking and vehicular traffic along the PARADE ROUTE 2 Line-of-March between the hours of 3 : 30 p.m. and 9: 00 p.m. on Saturday, December 41 C� 1993 . n, 3 . THAT traffic management be conducted by members of the Redding Police Department. 4. THAT for purposes of obtaining the necessary permit from Caltrans, the City of Redding will co-sponsor the Parade.
