A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
APPROVING THE PURCHASE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF REDDING
AND TOM LAKOSE FOR SURPLUS PROPERTY LOCATED ADJACENT TO 2591
VICTOR AVENUE AND AUTHORIZING MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAME.
WHEREAS, the City of Redding owns property identified as Assessor's Parcel No. 67-
480-37; and
WHEREAS, City has declared a 3,440 square foot portion of said parcel surplus, and;
WHEREAS, said surplus is located adjacent to property located at 2591 Victor Avenue
identified as Assessor's Parcel No. 67-290-08; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Tom LaKose is in the process of purchasing said property at 2591
Victor Avenue for the purpose of developing a commercial glass shop; and
WHEREAS, Mr. LaKose wishes to purchase said City surplus property to effect said
development; and
WHEREAS, Mr. LaKose has received approval of Use Permit Up-41-93 to accomplish
said development; and
WHEREAS, said Use Permit is conditioned upon acquisition of said City property; and
WHEREAS, City wishes to insure that both City and property located at 2591 Victor
Avenue are developed as intended;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redding
as follows:
1. The City of Redding hereby approves the Purchase Agreement between the City of
Redding and Tom LaKose for 3,440 square feet of surplus property located adjacent to
2591 Victor Avenue.
2. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to sign all necessary documents on behalf
of the City of Redding, and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to attest
the signature of the Mayor.
3. A true copy of the Purchase Agreement referred to herein is attached hereto and made a
part hereof.

. PURCHASE AGREEMENT
(Rea/Property)
BY THISPURCHASEAGREEMENT made September_, 1993,the CITY OF REDDING(referred
to herein as "City"), a municipal corporation, and Tom LaKose (referred to herein as "Buyer"), hereby
agree as follows:
1. City is the owner of real property located in the City of Redding County of Shasta, State
of California described as Assessor's Parcel Number 67-480-37 (referred to herein as the "Property").
2. City hereby agrees to sell and Buyer agrees to purchase 3,440 square feet of land located
adjacent to 2591 Victor Avenue as depicted in Exhibit A, attached hereto, free and clear of all liens,
encumbrances, except any easements determined by the City to be needed for Public Services
purposes, for the sum of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000).
3. Buyer agrees to pay all costs associated with purchase of Property including cost of
appraisal, title and escrow fees, and costs associated with preparation of any maps or applications
necessary to transfer title to Buyer.
4. Buyer is purchasing the Property in "as is" condition. The City makes no warranty as to
the property being free of toxic materials or contaminated soils.
5. Close of escrow shall be prior to October 1, 1993.
6. Buyer agrees to comply with all conditions of UP-41-93 approved by the City of Redding
August 26, 1993.
7. Upon execution of this Agreement by both parties, an escrow account will be opened at
Chicago Title Company, 1647 Court Street, Redding, California, for the purpose of transferring title
of the property from City to Buyer.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have executed this Agreement effective on the day
and year above written.
