A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A GRANT DEED TO THE STATE OF
CALIFORNIA, ACTING BY AND THROUGH ITS DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION, FOR CITY-OWNED LAND NEEDED FOR THE STATE
ROUTE 44 RAMP RELOCATION PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the City of Redding and the State of California desire State Highway
improvements within the City of Redding, including the construction of new on- and off-ramps
from State Route 44 to Dana Drive, intersecting Dana Drive at Friendly Road; and
I'I WHEREAS, the State of California desires to acquire land necessary for the State right-of-

way for the State Route 44 ramp project; and
WHEREAS, the City of Redding is the owner of record of Assessor's Parcel Numbers 71-
160-49 and 71-160-50; and
WHEREAS, Assessor's Parcel Number 71-160-49 and a portion of 71-160-50 are required
for the project; and

WHEREAS, it is deemed in the best interest of the City of Redding to deed said land needed
to the State;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE/T RESOLVED that the City Council of the City, of Redding hereby
authorizes and directs the Mayor to sign the grant deed, a true copy of which is attached hereto
and incorporated herein by reference, transferring title of said land to the State of California.
/ HEREBY CERT/FY that the foregoing resolution was introduced and read at a regular
meeting of the Redding City Council on the 1st day of June, 1993.

FOR A VALUABLE CONSIDERATION, a receipt. of which is hereby acknowledged, the
CITY OF REDDING, a municipal corporation, hereby grants to the STATE OF CALIFORNIA, the
real property in the City of Redding, County of Shasta, State of California, described in Exhibit
i "A" and shown on Exhibit "B" attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.

PARCEL 1:
That real property situate in the City of Redding, County of Shasta, State of California, described
as follows:
Commencing at Engineer's Station "C" 122+67.134 B.C. on the control line as shown on the map
entitled "SURVEY OF A CONTROL LINE FOR STATE HIGHWAY PURPOSES," filed May 3, 1961 in
Book 26 of Land Surveys at page 28, Shasta County Records;
thence, along said control line, easterly, along a 5000.00 foot radius curve to the right, a distance
of 1096.55 feet to Engineer's Station "C" 133+63.684, a point hereinafter referred to as Point

thence, leaving said control line, N 11 "30'19" E. 135.69 feet to the southwesterly corner of that
certain parcel described in the deed recorded in Book 1893 at page 602, Official Records of Shasta
County;
thence, along the southerly line of said parcel, S 88'51'23" E, 125.61 feet, hereinafter referred to
J as Course "X," to a point bearing N 49'28'59" E from said Point "A," being the TRUE POINT OF
BEGINNING of this description;
thence, along the northeasterly prolongation of last said bearing, N 49'28'59" E, 107.44 feet,
hereinafter referred to as Course "Y," to the easterly line of said parcel;
thence, along said easterly line, S 01 `21'30" E, 71.48 feet to the southeasterly corner of said
parcel;
thence, along the southerly line of said parcel, N 88'51'23" W, 83.39 feet to the TRUE POINT OF
BEGINNING.
Containing 3049.20 square feet, more or less.
This conveyance, insofar as it pertains to the above-described Parcel 1, is made for the purpose of
a freeway and the grantors hereby release and relinquish to the grantee any and all abutter's rights,
including access rights, appurtenance to grantors' remaining property in and to said freeway over
and across Courses "X" and "Y" hereinabove described.
Bearings and distances are on the California Coordinate System of 1927, Zone 1. To obtain ground

distance, divide the distance shown by 0.99987694.
PARCEL 2:
That real property situate, lying and being in the City of Redding, County of Shasta, State of
California, more particularly described as a 1.00 foot strip of land, 25 feet long, described as
follows:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the South right-of-way line of Dana Drive and the East line
of that certain parcel described in the Deed recorded in Book 1893 of Official Records at Page 602,
Shasta County Records, thence, along said South right-of-way line of Dana Drive, N 88'51'23"
W., 25.00 feet; thence, N 01 '08'37" E., 1.00 foot; thence S 88"51'23" E., 25.00 feet, more or
less, to a point on the East line of said parcel described in Book 1893 at page 602; thence, along
said East line S 01 '21'30" E., 1.00 foot, more or less, to the point of beginning.
