RESOLUTION NO.
LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO. 25
VICTOR ESTATES SUBDIVISION
LOTS 1-87 OF UNIT 1, AND LOTS 1-76 OF UNIT 2
A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF REDDING TO ORDER THE FORMATION OF TERRITORY
INTO A LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICT, TO BE KNOWN AS
LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO. 25, AND TO LEVY AND
COLLECT ASSESSMENTS THEREIN FOR FISCAL YEAR 1993-940,
PURSUANT TO THE LANDSCAPING AND LIGHTING ACT OF 1972.
WHEREAS, on this date the City Council adopted a Resolution
initiating proceedings for the formation of LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE
DISTRICT NO. 25 and the levying of assessments for fiscal year
1993-94, and directed the filing of an Engineer' s Report; and
WHEREAS, the Engineer for the proceedings has filed his
Report with the City Clerk, setting forth a full and detailed
description of the improvements, the boundaries of the proposed
assessment district and any zones therein, any bonds or notes to
be issued, and the proposed assessments upon assessable lots and
parcels of land within the proposed district; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the proposed district, which is
generally located on the east side of Victor Avenue between
Galaxy Way and E1 Verano Street, is to provide maintenance to
those landscaping improvements required within the public right-
of-way by the conditions of development approval of the Victor
Estates Subdivision, Units 1 and 2; and
WHEREAS, City Council intends to levy the proposed special
assessment upon the land equally amongst Lots 1 through 87
inclusive of Unit 1 and Lots 1 through 76 of Unit 2 of the Victor
Estates Subdivision, which encompass the proposed district; and
WHEREAS, no costs for the original improvements will be
assessed against land within the proposed district; all costs of
improvements being a condition of the development of said
Subdivision; and
WHEREAS, only costs for maintenance of landscaping, repairs
to the irrigation system, electric and water charges, replacement

of vegetation as necessary, and any and all incidental expenses,
including administrative costs, in connection therewith will be
assessed; and
WHEREAS, a public meeting will be held on June 15, 1993,
pursuant to Section 54954. 6 of the Government Code;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Redding as follows:
1. That the above recitals are true and correct.
2. That the City Council hereby approves the Report of the
Engineer, as filed, containing a full and detailed description of
the improvements; the boundaries of proposed LANDSCAPE
MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO. 25 and any zones therein; any bonds or
notes to be issued; and the proposed assessments upon assessable
lots/parcels within said district.
3 . That a public hearing will be held on Tuesday, July 6,
1993 , at the hour of 7: 00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the
matter may be heard, in the City Council Chambers located at 1313
California Street, Redding, California, to address the formation
of said district and the levy of assessments for fiscal year
1993-94.
4. That the City Clerk shall give notice of said hearing
by causing this Resolution to be published, posted, and mailed as
provided in Section 22556 of the Streets and Highways Code.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
introduced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Redding on the 4th day of May , 1993, and was duly
adopted at said meeting by the following vote:
