RESOLUTION NO.
,I
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
RECOGNIZING THOMAS P. ISITT AS THE "EMPLOYEE-OF-THE-
YEAR" FOR CALENDAR YEAR 1992 IN THE CITY'S PROGRAM FOR
REDDING IMPROVEMENT AND DEVELOPING EXCELLENCE
I
(P.R.I.D.E. ) .
i
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 88-150 adopted April 19, 1988 ,
the City of Redding established a Public Service and Productivity
Award Program to encourage its employees to develop ideas and
suggestions as to how the City could improve its operations, and
thereby improve service to the public; and
WHEREAS, the Miscellaneous Employee Benefit Policy was
amended on May 19, 1992, by Resolution No. 92-217 to change the
name of the Program from "Public Service and Productivity Award
.i Program" to "Program for Redding Improvement and Developing
'i Excellence" ; and
WHEREAS, a Judging Committee was formed to evaluate the
suggestions submitted by employees; and
WHEREAS, each Employee-of-the-Quarter is awarded eight hours
of additional vacation time, and is eligible to compete for the
i
Employee-of-the-Year Award; and
WHEREAS, the Judging Committee has made its recommendation
to the City Council for the Employee-of-the-Year for calendar
year 1992;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Redding that THOMAS P. ISITT be and hereby is
selected as the Employee-of-the-Year for calendar year 1992, with
the resultant benefit of 40 additional hours of vacation time.
Mr. Isitt suggested using an automotive fuel filter on the City' s '
herbicide sprayers to filter out the dirt that gets into the
i
i
sprayers. Prior to using the filters, dirt and gravel would get
into the sprayers and ruin the nozzles, leading to the premature
replacement of the $50 sprayers. With the use of the filters,
dirt and gravel is filtered out before it can do any damage,
dramatically extending the life of the sprayers.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
introduced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Redding on the 2nd day of February , 1993, and was
duly adopted at said meeting by the following vote:
