HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 94-059 - Pertaining to the Redding Rodeo Association's & Asphalt Cowboys' 46th Annual Rodeo Week Celebrations to be held May 9 through May 14, 1994 I , RESOLUTION NO. 94-6-f A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING PERTAINING TO THE REDDING RODEO ASSOCIATION'S AND ASPHALT COWBOYS' 46TH ANNUAL RODEO WEEK CELEBRATIONS TO BE HELD MAY 9 THROUGH MAY 14, 1994. i WHEREAS, the 46th annual Rodeo Parade and Rodeo Week activities of the Redding Rodeo Association and the Asphalt Cowboys will be held during the week of May 9 through 14, 1994; and WHEREAS, the Asphalt Cowboys have made certain requests of the City Council in connection with parking and the use of certain streets during the Roaring Gulch activities and the Rodeo Parade; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to encourage the growth and success of Rodeo Week; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that this matter is not subject to the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding as follows: 1. That all of the foregoing recitals are true and correct, and that it is deemed in the best interests of the City of Redding to grant the requests of the Asphalt Cowboys. 2. The Chief of Police, in cooperation with the Director of Public Works, is directed to accomplish the following: ( a) Prohibit parking and vehicular traffic on Market Street between Placer and South Streets, and one-half block east of Market Street on Sacramento Street, and one- half block west of Market Street on Sacramento Street from 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 1994, to 2:00 p.m. ,\ Friday, May 13 , 1994 , for the Roaring Gulch activities. C1 i (b) Prohibit parking and vehicular traffic along PARADE ROUTE 1 (established by Resolution No. 90-429) between the hours of 6 : 00 a.m. and 1: 00 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 1994, for the Parade lineup and staging, and the Parade line-of-march. 3 . That traffic management be conducted by members of the Redding Police Department.
