A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
DESIGNATING THE SHASTEC REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT SURVEY AREA
WHEREAS, Section 33310 of the California Community Redevelopment Law (Health &
Safety Code Section 33000, et seq.) provides that a redevelopment survey area may be
designated by resolution of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redding desires that the area hereinafter
described be studied to determine if a redevelopment project or projects within said area are
feasible; and.
WHEREAS, a redevelopment project or projects may be initiated within this area should it be
found that such a project or projects are feasible; and
WHEREAS, Section 33210of the Health and Safety Code provides two or more agencies may
jointly exercise the powers granted under Part 1 of Division 24 of the California Health and
Safety Code to form a Redevelopment Project; and
WHEREAS, the Agencies desire to form a Redevelopment Project Area in the Redding
Municipal Airport Road-North Street-Old Oregon Trail areas of the community as shown on
Exhibit "A" in order to address those conditions set forth in Sections 33031 or 33032,causing
a reduction of, or lack of, proper utilization of the area to such an extent that it constitutes a
serious physical, social, or economic burden on the community which cannot reasonably be
expected to be reversed or alleviated by private enterprise acting alone; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anderson, the City of Redding, the County of Shasta, and the Redding
Redevelopment Agency have entered into a cooperation agreement to study if a
redevelopment project or projects are feasible within the area depicted as Exhibit "A,"

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding as follows:
1 . That the City Council does hereby designate as a redevelopment survey area those area
shown on the map of Shastec Redevelopment Project Survey Area," attached hereto w
Exhibit "A" that are within the City of Redding and by this reference made a part hereof
2. That the City Council hereby finds and determines that said designated survey areE
requires study to determine if a redevelopment project or projects within said area arE
feasible.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was introduced and read at a regular meetinc
of the City Council of the City of Redding on the 18thday of January, 1994, and was dul)
adopted at said meeting by the following vote:

ABSTAIN: COUNCIL MEMBERS: Kehoe and Arness
