A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING OF
INTENTION TO BEGIN LEGAL PROCEEDINGS OF ABATEMENT UNDER
CHAPTER 9.36 OF THE REDDING MUNICIPAL CODE CERTAIN REAL
PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF REDDING IDENTIFIED AS THE LARGE METAL
STORAGE CONTAINER LOCATED ON THE PROPERTY AT 5814 WESTSIDE
ROAD, OWNED BY LELAND R. ANDRADE, AN UNMARRIED MAN.
WHEREAS, the provisions of Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding
Municipal Code provide that all buildings or structures located
within the City of Redding which are structurally unsafe or are
dilapidated from old age, neglect, decay or other causes which
constitute a fire menace or are dangerous to human life or a likely
resort for vagrant or dissolute persons, may be declared a nuisance
by the City Council of the City of Redding and thereafter abated as
provided therein; and
WHEREAS, the Building Official of the City of Redding has made
an inspection of the large metal storage container located on real
property as hereinafter described and has declared it to be unsafe
and/or a hazard to safety, health and public welfare; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that this matter is categor-
ically exempt from the provisions of CEQA;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Redding that it is the intention of this City Council to begin
legal proceedings of abatement under Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding
Municipal Code on the property described in Exhibit "A" attached
hereto and made a part hereof. X`
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said container mentioned herein- �\

above is hereby declared to be a public nuisance as provided by
Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding Municipal Code and is hereby ordered to
be abated by repair, rehabilitation, demolition or removal.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Fire Marshal and the Board of
Appeals of the City of Redding are hereby directed to take all
proceedings provided in Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding Municipal Code.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of
Redding be and hereby is authorized and directed to forward a
. certified copy of this resolution to the Shasta County Recorder for
recordation.

A portion of Lot 4 as shown on the map entitled "Plan of the Heller
Tract 2 1/2 miles South of Redding, Shasta County, California;
filed November 1, 1887 in the _office of the County Recorder of
Shasta County in Book of Old Plats, at page 69, particularly
described as follows:
COMMENCING at a point which is North 81045' West 76 feet and South
7030' 1617 feet from the Northeast corner of Lot 1 as shown on said
map; thence, North 81045' West 290. 4 feet; thence, South 7030' East
100 feet; thence, South 81045' East 290. 4 feet; thence, North 7030'
West 100 feet to the point of beginning.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM that portion conveyed to Peter J. Bastunas and
Isable Bastunas, by Deed dated December 15, 1948 recorded December
30, 1948 in Book 305 of Official Records, at page 199, Shasta
County Records.
ALSO EXCEPTING THEREFROM that certain parcel of land described in
Deed from R. Ned Martin and Ella I . Martin, his wife, to State of
California, dated February 5, 1954 , recorded March 26, 1954 in Book
422 of Official Records, at page 578 , Shasta County Records.
ALSO EXCEPTING THEREFROM that portion conveyed to the County of
Shasta, by Deed recorded August 25, 1966 in Book 892 of Official
Records, at page 458 , Shasta County Records, together with the
Westerly 99 . 00 feet measured along the North and South line of the
land described as follows :
A portion of Lot 4 as shown on the map entitled "Plan of the Heller
Tract 2 . 5 miles South of Redding, Shasta County California" filed
November 1, 1887 in the office of the County Recorder of Shasta
County in Volume Old Plats at page 69, particularly described as
follows:

7030' East 1617 feet from the Northeast corner of Lot 1 as shown on
said map; thence, North 81045' West, 290. 4 feet; thence, South
