RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
COMMENDING MIKE DAHL FOR HIS SERVICE TO THE CITY.
WHEREAS, Mike Dahl has served the City of Redding with distinction as a Member of
the City Council for two four-year terms, from 1986 to 1990, and from 1991 to 1994; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Dahl was selected by his colleagues to serve as Mayor for two terms,
from 1987 to 1988, and from 1991 to 1992; and
WHEREAS, he also served the City as Chair of the Redding Area Bus Authority, and
representative to the Redding Redevelopment Agency and Housing Authority; and
WHEREAS, he served in a liaison capacity to the Police and Public Works Department,
the Recreation and Parks Department and Commission; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Dahl's term of office on the Redding City Council has been
characterized by significant progress including:
► Shaping of an economic development strategy aimed at providing a high level of
economic activity and new jobs, while at the same time protecting the priceless
environment of Redding;
► Development of a Mission and Goals Statement to guide the City;
► Presiding over City affairs during a difficult period of nation-wide economic hard times
and bringing the City through without major cuts in personnel or in services to the public;
► Development of essential community facilities, including the construction of the Stillwater
Sewage Treatment Plant and conceptual design work for a new City Hall, Corporation
Yard, police facility, Softball Complex, Museum Complex, and others;
► Providing leadership in the securing of additional electrical energy resources for the
community, ensuring continuity of Redding's very favorable electric rates;
► Development of more effective public services, such as an automated refuse collection
system, improvement public transportation, and more responsive public safety services;
► Support of the community's desire for a park in the Enterprise area, to be developed and `C
built and named Enterprise Community Park, and for an Arboretum in the Benton Ranch \

area, and others;

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Redding extends its profound thanks and commendation to Mike Dahl for his lasting
contributions to the City of Redding;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council wishes Mike continued success in
his future ventures.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was introduced and read at a regular
meeting of the City Council of the City of Redding on the 17tlday of May, , 1994, and was duly
adopted at said meeting by the following vote:
