A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF REDDING TO:
(1) CONSOLIDATE EXISTING LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE
DISTRICTS 16, 17, AND 22 INTO ONE DISTRICT TO BE
KNOWN AS LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICT "C" ;
(2) ANNEX ADDITIONAL TERRITORY, NAMELY GOLD HILLS
SUBDIVISION, UNIT 3A, R1, AND R2 (AREA 4) ;
MONTEREY SPRINGS SUBDIVISION, UNIT 2 (AREA 5) ; AND
POTTER MANOR SUBDIVISION (AREA 6) INTO LANDSCAPE
MAINTENANCE DISTRICT "C" ; AND
(3) LEVY AND COLLECT ASSESSMENTS IN LANDSCAPE
MAINTENANCE DISTRICT "C" FOR FISCAL YEAR 1994-95.
WHEREAS, on this date the City Council adopted its
Resolution initiating proceedings for:
► the consolidation of existing Landscape Maintenance
Districts 16, 17, and 22 into one district to be known
as Landscape Maintenance District "C" ;
► the annexation of Gold Hills Subdivision, Unit 3A, R1,
AND R2 (Area 4) ; Monterey Springs Subdivision, Unit 2
(Area 5) ; and Potter Manor Subdivision (Area 6) into
said District; and
► the levying of assessments for fiscal year 1994-95;
and further directed the filing of the Engineer' s Report; and
WHEREAS, the Engineer for the proceedings has filed his
Report with the City Clerk, setting forth a full. and detailed.
description of the improvements; the boundaries of the District
and the additional territories proposed to be annexed thereto
[Area 4 is generally located at Shasta View Drive and Manzanoaks
Drive; Area 5 is generally located at the southeast corner of ti
Churn Creek Road and Palacio Drive; and Area 6 is generally
located on the west side of Shasta View Drive at Galaxy Way] , and

any zones therein; any bonds or notes to be issued; and the
proposed assessments upon the assessable lots and remaining
parcels of land within the District; and
WHEREAS, only costs for the maintenance of landscaping,
repairs to the irrigation system, electric and water charges,
replacement of vegetation as necessary, and any and all
incidental expenses, including administrative costs, in
connection therewith will be assessed; and
WHEREAS, the City Council intends to levy the special
assessment for fiscal year 1994-95 equally amongst all the lots
and remaining parcels which encompass Landscape Maintenance
District "C, " which are more particularly described in the
location maps and summary attached hereto and incorporated herein
by reference; and
WHEREAS, due to district consolidation (pooling of resources
and a surplus of funds to credit on this year' s assessment) , 11-
month maintenance costs instead of 12, and an unusually low bid,
the proposed annual assessment would be well below the assessment
of previous years; and
WHEREAS, a public meeting will be held June 7, 1994,
pursuant to Section 54954. 6 of the Government Code;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Redding as follows:
1 . That all of the above recitals are true and correct.
2. That the City Council hereby approves the Report of the
Engineer, as filed, containing a full and detailed
description of the improvements; the boundaries of the
District, including the areas proposed to be annexed in, and
any zones therein; any bonds or notes to be issued; and the
proposed assessments upon the assessable lots/remaining
parcels within said District.
3 . That a public meeting be held on Tuesday, June 7, 1994, and
a public hearing be held on Tuesday, July 5, 1994, each at

the hour of 7: 00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter
may be heard, in the City Council Chambers located at 1313
California Street, Redding, California, to address the
consolidation, annexations, and levy of the proposed
assessment for fiscal year 1994-95.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution of Intention
was introduced, read, and adopted at a regular meeting of the
City Council on the 17th day of May , 1994, by the following
vote:
