HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2020-145 - Declaring results of the consolidated general municipal election held in the COR on November 3, 2020RESOLUTION NO. 2020-145 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE CONSOLIDATED GENERAL MUNCIPAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF REDDING ON NOVEMBER 3, 2020 WHEREAS, a Consolidated General Municipal Election was duly held in the City of Redding on the 3 1 day of November, 2020, for the purpose of electing two City Council Members and a City Treasurer for a full term of four years each; and WHEREAS, the Shasta County Clerk and Registrar of Voters has canvassed the returns of the election pursuant to Government Code; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Redding hereby resolves and declares as follows: That the persons receiving votes for the offices of Council Member, and the total number of votes that each received is as follows: CITY COUNCIL MEMBER TOTAL VOTES Mark Mezzano 19,842 Julie Winter 16,087 Adam McElvain 15,333 Jack Munns 15,275 David Robbin 6,242 Monique Welin 2,788 2. That the person receiving votes for the office of City Treasurer, and the total number of votes received is as follows: CITY TREASURER Allyn Feci Clark TOTAL VOTES 33,727 3. That the total number of registered voters in the City of Redding was 55,658, the total number voting at said election was 47,099 resulting in a 84.62% percent voter turnout. 4. That the two candidates receiving the highest number of votes for the offices of Council Member are Mark Mezzano and Julie Winter. That the candidate receiving the highest number of votes for the office of City Treasurer is Allyn Feci Clark. LP 6. That the number of votes cast for each of the candidates for the offices of Council Member and City Treasurer at each precinct and the Vote -by -Mail ballots are as set forth and shown on the attached tally sheets and made a part hereof by reference. 7. That Mark Mezzano and Julie Winter are hereby declared to have been elected as Council Members of the City of Redding for a full term of four years each, effective December 1, 2020. 8. That Allyn Feci Clark is hereby declared to have been elected as City Treasurer of the City of Redding for a full term of four years, effective December 1, 2020.
