HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 94-239 - Setting a Single Goal of 10% for the City's DVBE program for FY 1994-95 RESOLUTION NO. 94 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING SETTING A SINGLE GOAL OF 10% FOR THE CITY'S DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISES PROGRAM FOR FISCAL YEAR 1994-95. WHEREAS, as a condition of receiving federal funds, local agencies are required to adopt a program for the inclusion of those firms qualifying as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) ; and WHEREAS, federal regulations require that goals be established and actively pursued to ensure that DBE firms are not excluded from the competitive bidding process, and WHEREAS, DBE requirements are set forth in the "Surface Transportation and Uniform Relocation Assistance Act of 1987," also referred to as the "Federal Aid Highway Act of 1987," requiring that an annual goal of not less than 10% be established for the participation of small business concerns owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding that a single goal of 10% for the City's Disadvantaged Business Enterprises Program be established for the period commencing October 1, 1994, and ending September 30, 1995, for the City's 1994-95 fiscal year. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was introduced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Redding on the 16th day of August 1994, and was duly adopted at said meeting by the following vote: AYES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: P.
