A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
APPROVING THE FILING OF A SECOND-STAGE APPLICATION FOR
GRANT FUNDS THROUGH THE SHASTA COUNTY AIR QUALITY GRANT
PROGRAM, AIR QUALITY MANAGEMENT DIVISION, GRANT YEAR
1994/95, SECOND CYCLE, IN THE AMOUNT OF $39,200 TO BE
USED TO PURCHASE COMPUTER EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE FOR AN
INTERACTIVE COMPUTER-BASED TELECOMMUNICATIONS CENTER
(PROJECT) .
WHEREAS, on September 20, 1994, the City Council authorized
staff to file a grant request with the Shasta County Air Quality
Management District for the development of a telecommunication
system; and
WHEREAS, the City has passed the first-stage of grant
approval, and has been invited to submit a second-stage
application; and
WHEREAS, the grant request is for $39,200 to be used to
purchase computer equipment and software for an interactive
computer-based telecommunications center; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the grant is to allow users of
personal computers to access the City' s database, which in turn
will reduce vehicle trips to the City Hall and help improve air
quality; and
WHEREAS, one of the grant requirements of the second-stage
application is a resolution of the City Council authorizing the
filing of the grant;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the Council
hereby approves the filing of an application by the City of
Redding (Agency) for Shasta County Air Quality Grant funds in the
amount of $39, 200 for the purchase of computer equipment and
software for an interactive computer-based telecommunications
center (Project) .

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager, as Agent of
the City of Redding, is hereby authorized to conduct all
negotiations, and execute and submit all documents, including,
but not limited to, applications, agreements, amendments, payment
requests, and so on, which may be necessary for the completion of
the aforementioned Project.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
introduced, read, and adopted at a regular meeting of the City
Council on the 6th day of December , 1994, by the following vote:
