RESOLUTION NO. 94- 3(�
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF 11 PARTITION SCREENS AND 11
PUSHBARS FROM MAITA CHEVROLET IN SACRAMENTO FOR THE 11
MARKED POLICE VEHICLES BEING PURCHASED THROUGH THE
STATE, PURSUANT TO REDDING MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION
4.20.080(A) (4) , AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
SIGN THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTATION.
WHEREAS, the Fiscal Year 1994-95 Budget provides for the
purchase of 11 marked police vehicles through the State
Cooperative Purchasing Department; and
WHEREAS, the State bid has been awarded to Maita Chevrolet
in Sacramento; and
WHEREAS, the partition screens and pushbars in existing
Police vehicles are not interchangeable with the 1995 Chevrolet
body design; in addition, the pushbars must be of a design and
installed so as not to deploy or bypass the vehicle air safety
bag; and
WHEREAS, Maita Chevrolet in Sacramento offers the sale and
installation of both items as an option; and
WHEREAS, the City' s Shop General Foreman recommends that
these options be purchased for the 11 new vehicles, at a cost not
to exceed $7 , 539. 14 ; and
WHEREAS, at the request of the City Manager and upon
approval by the City Council, Redding Municipal Code Section
4. 20. 080 (A) ( 4) authorizes dispensing with the bidding process
when the goods or services proposed to be purchased do not
constitute a Public Works project; and

WHEREAS, the proposed purchase of partition screens and
pushbars for the 17 new vehicles does not constitute a Public
Works Project;

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Redding as follows:
1. That the foregoing recitals are true and correct.
2. That, pursuant to Redding Municipal Code Section
4. 20 . 080 (A) ( 4) , Council hereby authorizes the purchase
of 11 partition screens and 11 pushbars for the new
vehicles being purchased through the State, in an
amount not to exceed $7 , 539. 14 .
3 . That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed
to execute the necessary documentation on behalf of the
City of Redding; and the City Clerk is hereby directed
to attest the signature of the City Manager and to
affix the seal to the documentation when appropriate.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
introduced, read, and adopted at a regular meeting of the City
Council on the 20th day of December, 1994, by the following vote:
