A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING ORDERING TERRITORY
DESIGNATED AS "ANNEXATION 94-1, OASIS ROAD AREA" ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF
REDDING
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to annex uninhabited territory to the City of Redding
pursuant to the Cortese-Knox Local Government Reorganization Act of 1985, Division 3, commencing
with Section 56000 of the California Government Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted its Resolution No. 94-110 on April 19, 1994, requesting the
Local Agency Formation Commission to take proceedings for City of Redding Annexation No. 94-1;
and
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission of the County of Shasta adopted its
Resolution No. 94-09 on December 1, 1994, making determinations and approving the proposed
annexation to the City of Redding of territory described in Exhibit A attached hereto and by this
reference incorporated herein; and
WHEREAS, the terms and conditions of annexation as approved by the Local Agency Formation
Commission are as follows: Boundaries approved by the Commission as shown on the attached map
entitled Exhibit B; and
WHEREAS, the reason for the annexation is the advantage to property owners within this
territory of the availability of certain City services; and
WHEREAS, the regular County assessment roll is utilized by this City; and
WHEREAS, the affected territory will be taxed for existing general bonded indebtedness of the
County Service Areas; and
WHEREAS, the City Council certifies that a negative declaration was adopted for this annexation
pursuant to CEQA; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing on this annexation was called for and held by this Council at the
place and time noticed therefore on January 3, 1995, and this Council finds and determines that the
value of written protests filed and not withdrawn is less than 50 percent of the total assessed value
of land within the territory to be annexed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Redding hereby orders the territory
described in Exhibit A annexed, and directs the City Clerk of the City of Redding to transmit a
certified copy of this resolution with applicable fees required by Section 54902.5 of the Government
Code to the executive officer of the Local Agency Formation Commission of Shasta County.
HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced and read at a regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of Redding on the 3rd day of January, 1995, and was duly adopted
at said meeting by the following vote:

LEGAL DESCRIPTION
All that certain real property situate in Section 12, Township 32 North, Range 5 West,
M.D.B. & M., in the County of Shasta, State of California, more particularly described
as follows:
BEGINNING at the corner common to Sections 1, 12, Township 32 North, Range 5
West and Section 6 and 7, Township 32 North, Range 4 West, M.D.B. & M.; thence
along the section line common to said Sections 12 and 7, South a distance of 2640 t
feet, more or less, to the.one-quarter common to said Sections 12 and 7; thence
continuing along said section line South 0037'35" East a distance of 1646.09 feet,
more or less, to a point that bears North 0137'35" West a distance of 998.01 feet
from the Southeast corner of said Section 12; thence parallel with the South line of
said Section 12, South 83°35'21 " West a distance of 523.5 feet, more or less, to a
point on the Northwesterly right of way line of Oasis Road, said point being 50.00
feet Northwesterly of and parallel to the centerline of Oasis Road as shown on the
map recorded July 27, 1970 in Book 35 of Land Surveys at page 21 , Shasta County
Records; thence along said Northwesterly right of way line, South 41036'05" West,
a distance of 130.03 feet, more or less, to a point of curvature; thence along a 1950
foot radius curve to the right, through a central angle of 14134'52", an arc length of
496.25 feet, more or less, to a point on the Westerly line of that certain real property
conveyed to Carl C. Simpson, et ux, recorded February 8, 1962 in Book 695 of
Official Records at page 170, Shasta County Records; thence along said westerly line,
North 00141'00" West a distance of 370.78 feet, more or less, to the Northwest
corner of said Simpson parcel; thence parallel with the South line of said Section 12,
South 83°35'21 " West a distance of 330 feet, more or less, to the Southeast corner
of the land conveyed in the deed to Robert G. Riley, et ux, recorded October 20, 1954
in Book 440 of Official Records at page 96, Shasta County Records; thence Northerly
and parallel to the East line of said Section 12, along the East line of said Riley parcel
a distance of 400.00 feet; thence Northwesterly along the Northeasterly line of said
Riley parcel to the Northwest corner thereof; thence, 675.25' South 83137' West,
along the North line of the parcel of land described in the deed to E. G. Sweet, et ux,
recorded April 13, 1942 in Book 370 of Official Records at page 36, Shasta County
Records, to the West line of the Southeast quarter of said Section 12; thence along
said west line, North 04124'36" West to the center of said Section 12; thence
continuing along the midsection line, North 04024'36" West a distance of 2653.78
feet, more or less, to the North one-quarter corner of said Section 12; thence along
the North line of said Section 12, South 86113'59" East a distance of 2627.71 feet,
more or less, to the point of beginning, said point being the Northeast corner of said
Section 12.

EXCEPTING THEREFROM that portion of the Southeast one-quarter of Section 12,
Township 32 North, Range 5 West, M.D.M., containing one and one half (1-1/2)
acres, more or less, described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point on the East line of said Southeast one-quarter of said Section
12, 500 feet Southerly from the Northeast corner of said Southeast one-quarter of
Section 12; thence Northerly along the East line of said Section 12 to the Northeast
corner of said Southeast one-quarter; thence westerly along the North line of said
Southeast one-quarter of Section 12 a distance -of 250 feet; thence Southeasterly
along a straight line to the point of beginning.
ALSO EXCEPTING THEREFROM that portion of the hereinabove described lands lying
