HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 95-009 - Ordering territory designated as "Annexation 94-1, Oasis Rd Area" annexed to the COR r e• , • RESOLUTION NO. 9 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING ORDERING TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "ANNEXATION 94-1, OASIS ROAD AREA" ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF REDDING WHEREAS, the City Council desires to annex uninhabited territory to the City of Redding pursuant to the Cortese-Knox Local Government Reorganization Act of 1985, Division 3, commencing with Section 56000 of the California Government Code; and WHEREAS, the City Council adopted its Resolution No. 94-110 on April 19, 1994, requesting the Local Agency Formation Commission to take proceedings for City of Redding Annexation No. 94-1; and WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission of the County of Shasta adopted its Resolution No. 94-09 on December 1, 1994, making determinations and approving the proposed annexation to the City of Redding of territory described in Exhibit A attached hereto and by this reference incorporated herein; and WHEREAS, the terms and conditions of annexation as approved by the Local Agency Formation Commission are as follows: Boundaries approved by the Commission as shown on the attached map entitled Exhibit B; and WHEREAS, the reason for the annexation is the advantage to property owners within this territory of the availability of certain City services; and WHEREAS, the regular County assessment roll is utilized by this City; and WHEREAS, the affected territory will be taxed for existing general bonded indebtedness of the County Service Areas; and WHEREAS, the City Council certifies that a negative declaration was adopted for this annexation pursuant to CEQA; and WHEREAS, a public hearing on this annexation was called for and held by this Council at the place and time noticed therefore on January 3, 1995, and this Council finds and determines that the value of written protests filed and not withdrawn is less than 50 percent of the total assessed value of land within the territory to be annexed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Redding hereby orders the territory described in Exhibit A annexed, and directs the City Clerk of the City of Redding to transmit a certified copy of this resolution with applicable fees required by Section 54902.5 of the Government Code to the executive officer of the Local Agency Formation Commission of Shasta County. HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Redding on the 3rd day of January, 1995, and was duly adopted at said meeting by the following vote: AYES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: P.
