A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
APPROVING AN INCREASE IN THE NOT-TO-EXCEED TOTAL COST OF
REVISION 1 TO THE THIRD AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT FOR
CARETAKING AND SUPPORT SERVICES ENTERED INTO BY AND BETWEEN
THE CITY OF REDDING AND BLACK & VEATCH CONSTRUCTION, INC.
WHEREAS, the City of Redding entered into an Agreement for Caretaking and
Support Services (Agreement) with Black & Veatch Construction Inc. (Black & Veatch)
on July 29, 1991; Contract No. C-2843; and
WHEREAS, on August 2, 1994, by Resolution No. 94-222, the Council approved
Revision 1 to the Third Amendment to the Agreement pertaining to Revised Task 4.4 at
a total cost not to exceed $393,000; and
WHEREAS, due to unexpected delays in vendors failing to perform in a timely
manner, and in order to facilitate the timely completion of the startup and testing
of the Redding Peaking Power Project and the training of personnel, the electric
department has requested an increase in the not-to-exceed costs of Revised Task 4.4
of the Black & Veatch contract from $393,000 to $618,650; see attached Report to City
Council dated January 12, 1995;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the City Council hereby approves
increasing the not-to-exceed costs of Revised Task 4.4 of the Black & Veatch contract
from $393,000 to $618,650.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was introduced, read, and
approved at a regular meeting of the City Council on the 17th day of January , 1995,
by the following vote:
