A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
ORDERING THE VACATION OF A BLOCK OF LIBERTY STREET BETWEEN
TERAMA (HIGHWAY 299) AND BUTTE STREETS, AND A BLOCK OF BUTTE
STREET BETWEEN EAST AND LIBERTY STREETS, AS DEPICTED IN
EXHIBIT A AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN EXHIBIT B
ATTACHED HERETO (A-2-90) .
WHEREAS, proceedings have been duly conducted and held in
accordance with the provisions of the Public Streets, Highways, and
Service Easements Vacation Law, Streets and Highways Code Section 8320 ,
et seq. ; and
WHEREAS, on April 7 , 1992, the City Council adopted Resolutions
92-133 and 92-134 ordering the above-mentioned vacation when certain
conditions have been met; and
WHEREAS, the conditions have been completed, and a determination
made to retain a 25 ' wide permanent public service easement from
Parcels 1 and 3 as depicted in Exhibit A and more ' particularly
described in Exhibit B attached hereto and made a part hereof; and
WHEREAS, the revised legal description and map attached hereto
include a triangular-shaped area with a radius reflecting the actual
physical configuration of the street improvements at the point Liberty
Street and Butte Street intersect; and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the Planning Department and the Land
Development Division of the Public Works Department that the
abandonment of the triangular area is consistent with the previous
approval granted by the City Council and the development agreement with \r�
Redding Medical Center; ( ,�1
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council hereby FINDS, RESOLVES, AND
ORDERS as follows:

1. Subject to the retention of a 25 ' wide permanent public service
easement as aforesaid, the block of Liberty Street between Tehama
(Highway 299) and Butte Streets and the block of Butte Street
between East and Liberty Streets, as depicted in Exhibit A and
more particularly described in Exhibit B attached hereto, are not
necessary for present or prospective street purposes.
2. The City Council makes the following findings in connection
herewith:
(a) The project is compatible with the Redding General Plan;
(b) The project will not significantly alter the existing land
form;
(c) The project is compatible with the surrounding land use; and
(d) The project is compatible with the Redding Municipal Code.
3 . The block of Liberty Street between Tehama (Highway 299) and Butte
Streets, and the block of Butte Street between East and Liberty
Streets, in the City of Redding, County of Shasta, State of
California, as depicted in Exhibit A and more particularly
described in Exhibit B, are hereby vacated as streets, SUBJECT TO
reserving from Parcels 1 and 3 a 25' wide permanent public service
easement to the City of Redding.
4. The City Clerk is directed to record a certified copy of this
Resolution, attested by the Clerk under seal, in the office of the
Shasta County Assessor/Recorder. Resolution Nos. 92-133 and 92-
134 are not to be recorded.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was introduced,
read, and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council on the 2nd
day of May , 1995, by the following vote:

PARCEL 1:
That portion of Liberty Stredt, as shown on the map of the
Frisbie ' s Addition to tre Town of Redding, recorded October 13 ,
1887 in Book of Old Plats at page 43 , Shasta County Records,
between the southerly line of Tehama Street and the northerly line
of Butte Street.
PARCEL 2 :
That portion of Butte Street, as shown on the map of the Frisbie ' s
Addition of the Town of Redding, recorded October 13 , 1887 in Book
of Old Plats at page 43 , Shasta County Records, between the
easterly line of East Street and the westerly line of Liberty
Street.
PARCEL 3 :
That portion of Butte Street and Liberty Street, as shown on the
map of the Frisbie 's Addition to the Town of Redding, recorded
October 13 , 1887 in Book of Old Plats at page 43 , Shasta County
Records, described as follows:
BEGINNING at the southeasterly corner of Block 65 of said Frisbie's
Addition of the Town of Redding;
thence North 72020100" East, a distance of 80. 00 feet, to the
southwest corner of Block 60 of said Frisbie ' s Addition;
thence continuing North 72020100" East, along the southerly line of
said Block 60, a distance of 30. 00 feet;
thence leaving said southerly line of Block 60, southerly along a
