RESOLUTION NO. 95-264
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF REDDING SU1�Il�IARILY VACATING A PORTION OF
OLD ALTURAS ROAD.
WHEREAS, the improved portion of road described in Exhibit A
and shown crosshatched on Exhibit B attached hereto and made a
part hereof (hereinafter referred to as the "Area of
Abandonment") was acquired by the City of Redding by prescription
based on a 1948 alignment as shown on a map recorded in Book 17
of Land Surveys at page 30, Shasta County Records; and
WHEREAS, with the widening and realignment of Old Alturas
Road, the Area of Abandonment is excess right-of-way no longer
required for roadway purposes; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department has advised the City
Council that there are no in-place public utility facilities that
are in use or would be affected by the vacation;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Redding \
hereby RESOLVES and ORDERS as follows : �
l . The City Council elects to proceed in this matter under C,(
the provisions of the Public Streets, Highways, and 9�
Service Easements Vacation Law as set forth in Section �
8330, et seq. , of the Streets and Highways Code of the �
State of California.

2 . There are no in-place public utility facilities within
the Area of Abandonment that are in use or would be
affected by the vacation.
3 . With the widening and realignment of Old Alturas Road,
the Area of Abandonment has been superseded by
relocation and is no longer necessary. Upon acceptance
of the Area of Abandonment by the adjacent property
owners, the area described in Exhibit A and depicted in
Exhibit B is hereby vacated.
4 . When the Area of Abandonment has been accepted by the
adjacent property owners, to be verified by the City
Attorney, the City Clerk is hereby directed to cause a
certified copy of this resolution of vacation, attested
by the Clerk under seal, to be recorded in the office
of the Shasta County Assessor/Recorder.
5 . From and after the date this resolution is recorded,
the Area of Abandonment hereby vacated no longer
constitutes an improved roadway.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
introduced, read, and adopted at a regular meeting of the City
Council on the2lst day of Nov. , 1995, by the following vote:

EXHIBIT A
ALL THAT LAND LYING WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF PARCELS 1 AND 2, as shown
on that certain map recorded for Frank L. Little on June 29, 1979, in Book 18 of Parcel Maps
at page 115, Shasta County Records, and more pazticularly described as:
(1) LYING 72 FEET NORTHERLY (measured radially or perpendicularly) of the following-
described line: Beginning at the southwest corner of the parcel shown on Exhibit B recorded
in Book 2751 of Official Records of Shasta County at page 351; thence along the southerly
line of said parcel N.57°51'06" E. 159.14 feet; thence northeasterly on and along a 770.00
foot radius curve concave to the southeast, through a central angle of 13°58'26", a distance
of 187.80 feet; thence on and along the south boundary of that certain parcel shown on
� Exhibits B and D recorded in Book 2751 of Official Records of Shasta County at page 341,
and more particularly described as follows: From a tangent bearing N.71°49'32" E. on a
230.00 foot radius curve concave to the south, through a central angle of 20°23'17", a
distance of 193.78 feet, the point of termination; and
(2) LYING EASTERLY of the following-described line: The east boundary of that certain 12'
wide slope easement and future dedication recorded in Book 3355 of Official Records of
Shasta County at page 401, and a 30.00' corner rounding between said east boundary
described above and the 72' northerly line described at the beginning of this description.
