HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 95-231 - Reducing the minimum Qualification level for the Citys eligibility criteria for incentive & Economic dev electric rates Eff 10/18/95 ' . r � • . t' � ` ' RESOLUTION NO. 95-23 / A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING REDUCING THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATION LEVEL FOR THE CITY'S ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR INCENTIVE AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ELECTRIC RATES TO CUSTOMERS WITHIN TI�E SERVICE AREA OF THE CITY OF REDDING ELECTRIC UTILITY, EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 18, 1995. WHEREAS, the City of Redding Electric Utility provides incentives in the form of reduced electric rates to qualifying nonresidential electric customers; and WHEREAS, the Electric Utility has recommended that the minimum qualification level for incentive rates be reduced from 200kW to 100kW to attract small- and medium-sized firms; it is estimated that another 100 customers will be eligible for the incentive rate program, with the potential to shift an additional 2 to 3 MWs from on-peak to off-peak periods; and WHEREAS, reducing the incentive rates and providing quality electric services at specially designed, highly competitive prices, will also enhance the desirability of Redding as a place for firms to locate and grow; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding that the minimum qualification level for incentive and economic development electric rates to customers within the service area of the City of Redding Electric Utility be reduced to 100kW, effective October 18, 1995. � � BE IT FLJRTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk and the Director of � Finance of the City of Redding are directed to maintain available certified copies of this resolution in their respective offices for inspection and review by any interested � person or persons.
