A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDDING APPROVING MODIFICATIONS TO THE MEMORANDUM
OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY OF REDDING AND THE
PEACE OFFICERS ASSOCIATION OF REDDING, RETROACTIVE TO
DECEMBER 17, 1995.
WHEREAS, the Peace Officers Association of Redding has been formally recognized
as the "Majority Representative" of an appropriate unit of employees, as set forth in Section
2.1 of Article 2 of the Memorandum of Understanding between the parties; and
WHEREAS, the designated representatives of the City of Redding and the Peace
Officers Association of Redding met and conferred as required by the provisions of the
Meyers-Milias-Brown Act of 1968, and have agreed to modify the Memorandum of
Understanding, effective December 17, 1995, to provide a pay rate for canine care and
maintenance and to establish specified compensable hours pursuant to the Fair Labor
Standards Act;
BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redding approves said
modifications to the Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Redding and the
Peace Officers Association of Redding, a true copy of which is on file in the office of the
City Clerk and open to public inspection, retroactive to December 17, 1995.
I HEREBY CERTIFI' that the foregoing Resolution was introduced, read, and
adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council on 2nd day of January, 1996, by the
following vote:
