HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 96-027 - To begin legal proceedings of Abatement on the real property located at 1023 State St, Owned by Elouise & Hugh Shuffleton � � RESOLUTION NO. 96-�7 A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING TO BEGIN LEGAL PROCEEDINGS OF ABATEMENT ON THE REAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1023 STATE STREET, OWNED BY ELOUISE AND HUGH SHUFFLETON. WHEREAS, the provisions of Redding Municipal Code Chapter 9.36 provide that all buildings or structures located within the City that are structurally unsafe, or are dilapidated from old age, neglect, decay, or other causes, and which constitute a fire menace or are dangerous to human life, or a likely resort for vagrant or dissolute persons, may be declared a nuisance by the City Council and thereafter abated as provided in said chapter; and WHEREAS, the Building Official of the City of Redding has made an inspection of the buildings located on the real property described as: One substandard residence at 1023 State Street, Lot 4, Block 9 of Park Subdivision, City of Redding, Shasta County, California, per map of said Park Division filed May 15, 1936, Book 5, page 12. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council that the buildings on the above-mentioned real property are declared to be a public nuisance. The Fire Marshal and the Board of Appeals are directed to institute abatement proceedings as provided in Redding Municipal Code Chapter 9.36. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced, read, and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council on the 6th day of February�996, by the following vote: AYES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: x.
