OF THE CITY OF REDDING PERTAINING TO THE 48TH ANNUAL RODEO WEEK CELEBRATIONS TO BE HELD MAY 13 THROUGH MAY 18, 1996. WHEREAS, the 48th annual Rodeo Parade and Rodeo Week activities of the Redding Rodeo Association and the Asphalt Cowboys will be held during the week of May 13 through 18, 1996; and WHEREAS, the Asphalt Cowboys have made certain requests of the City Council in connection with parking and the use of certain streets during the Roaring Gulch activities and the Rodeo Parade; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to encourage the growth and success of Rodeo Week; and WHEREAS, the Council has determined that this matter is categorically exempt from the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding that: l. All of the foregoing recitals are true and correct, and it is deemed in the best interests of the City of Redding to grant the requests of the Asphalt Cowboys. 2. The Chief of Police, in cooperation with the Director of Public Works, is directed to accomplish the following: \\ �J (a) Prohibit parking and vehicular traffic on Market Street between Placer and � South Streets, and one-half block east of Market Street on Sacramento Street, ; and one-half block west of Market Street on Sacramento Street from 5:00 p.m. (�,� a � � , • � Wednesday, May 15, 1996, to 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 17, 1996, for the Roaring Gulch activities; and (b) Parking and vehicular traffic be prohibited along PARADE ROUTE 1 (established by Resolution No. 90-429) between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 12 noon on Saturday, May 18, 1996, for the Parade lineup and staging and the Parade line-of-march. 3. Traffic management be conducted by members of the Redding Police Department.
