A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING COMMENDING FREDERIC RICHARD "FRED" MATHIS FOR 30 YEARS of SERVICE TO THE CITY OF REDDING WHEREAS, Fred Mathis will be retiring on May 13, 1996, having served as a Project Engineer with the Public Works Department for almost 30 years; and WHEREAS, in the performance of his duties and responsibilities, Fred Mathis has served the City of Redding with distinction and dedication, and has been instrumental in the design and construction of numerous Public Works projects that have improved the quality of life in Redding and helped shape the future of the City; and WHEREAS, the following is a list of the major accomplishments by Fred Mathis during his 30 year tenure with the City: *Construction of the Redding Regional Wastewater System *Completion of the Foothill Water Treatment Plant *Coordinate the design and construction of the stress-ribbon Bridge crossing of the Sacramento River - part of the River Trail System *Coordinate the construction of infrastructure improvements as part of the construction of the Mt. Shasta Mall *Construction of the parking structures at the Redding Midtown Mall *Numerous runway and taxiway improvements at both Redding Municipal Airport and Benton Airpark *Design and construction of four bridge crossings over the ACID canal *Project coordinator on the widening of the Hartnell Bridge over crossing of I-5 *Coordinated the design and environmental review of the new Lake Redding Bridge adjacent to the old Diestelhorst Bridge NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Reddinc� extends its appreciation to Fred Mathis for his valuable contributions and service to the City of Redding over the past 30 years, and congratulates him as he retires from service - extending best wishes and success to him in all his future ventures . I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced, read, and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council on the 7th day of May, 1996 , by the following vote: AYES : CounCil Member - P.
