A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDDING SUMMARILY VACATING A 12' PORTION OF THE 120'
WIDE BUENAVENTURA BOUd,EVARD �ASEMENT NEAR ITS
IN�'EItSECTION WITH EUREKA WE1Y, .TUST SOiJTH OF SUNS�T
PLAZA, BUT RETAINING THE UNDERLYING PUBLIC SERVICE
EASEMENT FOR ALL PUBLIC UTILITIES. [A-9-96]
WHEREAS, a 120' wide easement for street and utility purposes (Easement) was
deeded to the City of Redding by Julia Ferrero, Marie Ferrero, Mario Ferrero and Charles J.
Ferrero on December 6, 1976, and recorded as No. 32641 on December 13, 1976, in Book
1384 of Official Records at page 421, Shasta County Records; and
WHEREAS, the City has received an application to abandon a 12' portion of the
Easement, as more particularly described in Exhibit A and shown crosshatched on Exhibit B
attached hereto and made a part hereof ("Area of Abandonment"), but retain the underlying
public service easement for all public utilities; and
WHEREAS, the City has determined that the proposed 12' Area of Abandonment is
not necessary for street purposes, but the underlying public service easement must be retained
for all public utilities9

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL DETERMINES, RESOLVES AND
ORDERS AS FOLLOWS:
1. The City Council elects to proceed in this matter under the provisions of the Public
Streets, Highways and Service Easements Vacation Law as set forth in Section 8330, et
seq., of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California.
2. The City Council hereby approves the request to summarily vacate the 12' Area of
Abandonment described in Exhibit A and shown crosshatched on Exhibit B, with the
underlying public service easement being retained for all public utilities.
3. The City Clerk is directed to cause a certified copy of this resolution of vacation,
attested by the Clerk under seal, to be recorded in the office of the Shasta County
Assessor/Recorder.
4. From and after the date this resolution is recorded, the 12' Area of Abandonment shall
no longer constitute a portion of Buenaventura Boulevard for street purposes. The
underlying public service easement shall be retained for all public utilities.

State of California, more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at the Southerly most corner of Parcel 3 as shown on the map entitled"Parcel Map
No. LS-93-89" for Sunset Plaza.Partnership recorded March 15, 1990 in Book 27 of Parcel Maps
at page 122, Shasta County Records; thence along the westerly boundary of said Parcel 3,North
22°36'48" West a distance of 314.39 feet; thence along a curve to the right having a radius of
840.11 feet, a central angle of 08°24'49" and an arc length of 123.37 feet to the most westerly
corner common to said Parce13 and Parcel 1 of said Book 27 of Parcel Maps at page 122; thence
along the westerly boundary of said Parcel 1, continuing along a curve to the right having a radius
of 840.11 feet, a central angle of O1°20'OS" and an arc length of 19.57 feet; thence North
60°31'00" West a distance of 19.23 feet to a point on the easterly right of way line of
