RESOLUTION ACCEPTING PETITION
CITY OF REDDING
TETON DRIVE STREET ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 1998-1
WHEREAS, the owners of certain real property situated
in the City of Redding have filed with the City Clerk a petition,
signed by such owners, requesting the acquisition and/or
construction of certain public improvements described therein,
the cost of which is to be specifically assessed against each
parcel of land benefitting from such improvements; and
WHEREAS, the petition contains an express waiver of
statutory proceedings under the Special Assessment Investigation,
Limitation and Majority Protest Act of 1931, as provided in
Section 2804 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of
California; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk has also received a certificate
to the effect that the petition has been signed by persons owning
lands constituting more than sixty percent (600) in area of the
land subject to assessment within the proposed assessment
district; and
WHEREAS, this Council finds that the owners of more
than sixty percent (60%) in area of the land subject to
assessment for the proposed improvements have signed such
petition and that the petition contains the matters required by
Sections 2804 and 2804 . 5 of the Streets and Highways Code;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL HEREBY FINDS,
DETERMINES AND RESOLVES as follows : �

l . The petition as filed with the City Clerk is
hereby found to be legally sufficient and is accepted by this
City Council .
2 . The special assessment proceedings shall be
undertaken by the terms of the petition, pursuant to the
Municipal Improvement Act of 1913 and without further compliance
with the Special Assessment Investigation, Limitation and
Majority Protest Act of 1931 (commencing with Section 2800 of the
Streets and Highways Code) .
3 . The public interest and convenience will be served
by the taking of such proceedings .
4 . This action is "final" within the meaning of
Streets and Highways Code Section 3012 .

and regularly adopted by the City Council of the City of Redding,
Shasta County, California, at a regular meeting thereof, held on
the 5th day of May, 1998, by the following vote :

PETITION FOR SPECIAL ASSESSMENT PROCEEDINGS
PROPOSED TETON DRIVE STREET IMPROVEMENT ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 1997- 2
CITY OF REDDING
SHASTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING:
1. We, the undersigned, are the owners of land shown on the map attached as Exhibit A and
made a part of this document.
2. We petition you to undertake special assessment proceedings for the public improvement
project as described in Exhibit B attached hereto and by reference incorporated herein.
3. We understand:
(a) THAT the cost of the project will be charged to the land which benefits from the
project, including our land.
(b) THAT a report will be prepared on the propject including plans and specifications, a
detailed cost estimate, and a division of the costs among the benefited parcels of land, and that
you will conduct a public hearing on the report.
(c) THAT the cost of engineering, legal and other incidental and financing costs will be
included in the project cost.
(d) THAT each property owner may pay his assessment either in cash without interest or
in instaliments with interest over a period of years.
(e) THAT if we sign this petition and do not file a written protest prior to the public
hearing, it will be assumed at that time that we still favor the project.
(fl THAT if this petition is signed by the owners of at least sixty percent(60%) of the land
area proposed to be assessed, the City Council, at the close of public hearing, may overrule a
majority protest by a four-fifths vote of its members.
(g) THAT protests to the proceedings will be counted solely upon the land area of the
property proposed to be assessed.
4. The present best estimate of the total cost of the project to be financed by the proposed
assessment district, including incidental and financing costs in connection therewith, is
$458,200.00.
5. We waive investigation proceedings and all other provisions of Division 4, Streets and
Highways Code, as provided in Section 2804 of that code.

PROPOSED TETON DRIVE STREET IMPROVEMENT ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 1997-2
CITY OF REDDING
SHASTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The construction of 2,600 linear feet of Teton Drive inciuding clearing and grubbing, grading,
storm drain facilities, re-construction of sanitary sewer manholes, utility trenching, earthwork,
pedestrian walk, base, pavement, curb & gutter, guard railing and pavement striping with raised
markers.
