RESOLUTION NO. 98-�
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDDING DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ANNEX UNIT 2
OF THE MONTEREY SPRINGS SllBDIVISION INTO AREA S
OF LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICT "B."
WHEREAS:
1. The City Council heretofore ordered the consolidated formation of Landscape
Maintenance Districts "B" and "C" under authority granted by the Landscaping and Lighting Act
of 1972, as set forth in Part 2 of Division 15 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of
California.
2. Unit 2 of the Monterey Springs Subdivision is currently in Landscape Maintenance
District "C," which is a holding district until the developer fulfills his obligation to install
landscaping and maintain it during the maintenance period.
3. The maintenance period for Unit 2 of the Monterey Springs Subdivision has
expired; and it is the intention of the City Council to detach this property from District "C" and
annex it into Landscape Maintenance District "B" (District "B").
4. The purpose of District "B" is to provide maintenance to those landscaping
improvements required within the public rights-of-way by the conditions of development approval
of the subdivisions contained therein.
5. No substantial changes in existing improvements in District "B" are proposed for
fiscal year 1998/99.
6. On this date, by separate resolution, the City Council has declared its intention to
levy and collect assessments on each lot in District "B" for fiscal year 1998/99 pursuant to the
Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972, commencing with Section 22500 of the Streets and
Highways Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL THAT:
1. It is the intention of the City Council to annex Unit 2 of the Monterey Springs Subdivision �
into Area 8 of Landscape Maintenance District "B" (the District). �

2. A public meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 1998, at the hour of 7:00 p.m., or as
soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, in the City Council Chambers located at 1313
California Street, Redding, California, to address the proposed annexation of Unit 2 of
the Monterey Springs Subdivision into the District.
3. A public hearing will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 1998, at the hour of 7:00 p.m., or as
soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, in the City Council Chambers located at 1313
California Street, Redding, California, to address the proposed assessment for fiscal year
1998/99. The proposed assessment for the District for fiscal year 1998/99 of$71.00 is
the same as last year's assessment.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution of intention was introduced, read and
adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council on the Sth day of May, 1998, by the following
vote:
