' i . � RESOLUTION NO. 98- �"7 r A RESOLUTION OF THE CiTY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING COMMENDING CITY 'TREASi1RER, PEGGIE R. LINVILLE �'OR HE1� OUTSTANDiNG SERVICE AND CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE CITY OF REDDING WHEREAS, :Peggie R. Linville joined the City of Redding in 1972 as an Intermediate Account Clerk, quickly earning a promotion to Senior Account Clerk in 1974, and Accounting Specialist in 1979; and WHEREAS, Peggie R. Linville was appointed to the position of City Treasurer on August 25, 1985, after having served as Deputy City Treasurer since May 3, 1982; and WH�REAS, Peggie Linville was elected to the position of City Treasurer in 1988, and was successful in her bid for reelection in 1992 and again in 1996; and WHEREAS, Peggie Linville has a long history of community service and participation in such organizations as: %�: Division VI Chair of the California Municipal Treasurer's Association (CMTA) s'�: California Municipal Treasurer - Certified in June 1991 and re-certified in April 1996 =� California Elected Women (CEWAER) member ;�: Business and.Professional Women (BPW) member =� Women's Refuge member ;� Carter House Science Museum and Arboretum Member =� Chamber of Commerce =�: KIXE, Channel 9, Television; and WHEREAS, during her career as City Treasurer,Peggie Linville has implemented countless enhancements in technology and safety programs to the City Treasurer's Office such as: %: Credit/Debit Card Collections =� Armored Car Courier Sen•ice for Bank Deposits s'�: Security Alarm,Motion Detector, Silent Alarm,Security Camera,and Cashier Counter Safety Glass =� Computerized Daily Bank Balance Program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVEI) that the City Council of the City of Redding � hereby expresses deep appreciation to Peggie R.
