RESOLUTION NO. 98- /(��
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDDING ADOPTING A BIKEWAY PLAN FOR THE CITY
OF REDDING.
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the adoption of the draft City of Redding
Bikeway Plan in accordance with the provisions of Section 891.2 et. seq., of the California
Streets and Highways Code which requires cities and counties to prepare a plan in order to be
eligible for Bicycle Lane Account (BLA) funds; and
WHEREAS, the proposed City of Redding Bikeway Plan, a copy of which is attached
and made a part hereof by reference, has been referred to various affected public and private
agencies and City departments for their review and comments;
IT IS THEREFORE RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redding:
1. Makes the following findings for the City of Redding Bikeway Plan:
(a) The Bikeway Plan complies with the provisions of the California Bicycle Transportation
Act, specifically Section 891.2 of the Streets and Highways Code.
(b) The Bikeway Plan is consistent with the Shasta County Regional Transportation Plan and
the Regional Bikeway Plan, as well as the City of Redding's Draft General Plan Policies.
2. Adopts the attached Ciry of Redding Bikeway Plan.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced, read and adopted at a
regular meeting of the City Council on the 1 st day of December, 1998, by the following vote:
