LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICT "A"
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDDING:
(1) ORDERING THE ANNEXATION OF UNIT 2 OF �HE
BONNYVIEW ESTATES SUBDIVISION INTO AREA 3 OF
THE DISTRICT;
(2) ORDERING THE ANNEXATION OF UNI�' 17 OF T�IE
RAVENWOOD ESTATES SUBDIVISION INTO AREA 5 OF
TI3E DISTRICT;
(3) CONFIRMING THE DIAGRAM OF THE ASSESSMENT
DISTRICT CONTAINED IN THE ENGINEER'S REPORT;
AND
(4) ORDERING THE LEVY OF THE ANNLTAI, ASSESSNYENTS
FOR FISCAL YEAR 1999-2000 PURSUANT TO THE
LANDSCAPING AND LIGHTING ACT OF 1972
(COMMENCING WITH SECTION 22500 OF THE STREETS
AND HIGHWAYS CODE).
WHEREAS:
A. On July 6, 1999, by Resolution 99-69, the City Council approved the Report
of the Engineer as filed relating to Landscape Maintenance District "A" (District), and gave
notice of the time and place of the July 6, 1999, public hearing regarding the proposed
annexations and the levy and collection of assessments for fiscal year 1999-2000.
B. A diagram of the area encompassed by the District, including the areas
proposed to be annexed in, individual maps, and a summary are attached and made a part
hereof.
C. The public hearing, duly and properly noticed, commenced at the City
Council Chambers, 1313 California Street, Redding, California, on July 6, 1999, and was
concluded prior to the adoption of this resolution.
D. At the July 6"' public hearing, the City Council gave every interested person
an opportunity to object to the proposed assessments.
E. All legal prerequisites to the adoption of this resolution have occurred.
THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL FINDS, RESOLVES, DETERMINES �
AND ORDERS AS FOLLOWS: �p

1. The matters set forth above are true and correct. �

2. With respect to the additional territories proposed for annexation into Landscape
Maintenance District "A":
(a) Each owner has filed his Petition and Consent to said inclusion; and has
waived the resolutions, engineer's report, notices of hearing, and the right of
a majority protest with regard to the areas proposed to be annexed as
provided by Section 22608 of the Streets and Highways Code.
(b) The real properties proposed for annexation are situate in the City of
Redding, Shasta County, California, and described as follows:
(i) Lots 1-33 inclusive of the Bonnyview Estates Subdivision, Unit 2, as
shown on the map recorded December 11, 1998, in Book 22 of Maps
at page 29, Shasta County Records (APN 048-270-10 and 048-560-01
through 32); and
(ii) Lots 1-35 inclusave of the Ravenwood Estates Subdivision, Unit 17, as
shown on the map recorded June 11, 1998, in Book 22 of Maps at
page 20, Shasta County Records (APN 077-540-01-35).
(c) The City Council hereby orders the annexation of Unit 2 of the Bonnyview
Estates Subdivision into Area 3, and Unit 17 of the Ravenwood Estates
Subdivision into Area 5, of Landscape Maintenance District "A" for the
maintenance of landscaping, removal of debris, miscellaneous lighting,
mulching, vandalism, repairs to the irrigation system, electric and water
charges, replacement of vegetation as necessary, and any and all incidental
expenses, including administrative costs, in connection therewith, all as more
particularly authorized pursuant to the Landscaping and Lighting Act of
1972.
3. The diagram of the assessment district contained in the Engineer's Report is
confirmed.
4. The City Council has considered all oral statements and written protests or
communications made or filed by interested persons at the public hearing of July 6,
1999, and expressly overrules any and all protests filed objecting to the proposed
assessments to be levied in the District.
5. The City Council finds that the Engineer has fairly and properly apportioned the
costs of the improvements to each lot in the District (including the above areas
annexed into Areas 3 and 5) in proportion to the estimated benefits to be received by
each lot from the improvements.

6. An assessment of $29.46 against each lot located within the District for fiscal year
1999-2000 is adopted and confirmed, except that an assessment shall not be levied
on property owned by a federal or state governmental agency or another local
agency.
7. The City Clerk shall forthwith transfer to the Auditor and the Assessor/Recorder of
Shasta County a certified copy of this resolution and a certified copy of the
assessment district diagram contained in the Engineer's Report for Landscape
Maintenance District "A."
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced, read and
adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council on the 6th day of July, 1999, by the
following vote:
