A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
ADOPTING ADDENDUM TO THE GENERAL PLAN
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT FOR GPA-2020-00589, AND
AMENDING THE GENERAL PLAN HOUSING ELEMENT
WHEREAS,the City Council adopted the General Plan on October 3, 2000; and
WHEREAS, the current Housing Element (Element) of the General Plan was adopted in 2014
and state law requires periodic updates of the Element on a schedule proscribed by law, such
updates to include but not limited to updating of socio-economic and housing data, responding to
changes in Housing Element law, reviewing progress made toward attaining established housing
goals, and establishing an action program for the next Housing Element planning period (2020-
2028); and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a duly noticed public hearing pertaining on GPA-
2020-00589 on May 12, 2020, and recommended that the City Council adopt the Element
update, a copy of which is available in the City Clerk's office; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed pertinent documents prepared in
accordance with the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act and
recommended that an Addendum to the General Plan Environmental Impact Report be adopted
for GPA-2020-20589 after consideration of all testimony and written evidence submitted prior to
and during the aforementioned public hearing; and
WHEREAS, the City Council held a duly noticed public hearing on GPA-2020-00589 on June
2, 2020;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Redding
California as follows:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.
2. The City Council has reviewed the proposed Addendum to the Environmental Impact
Report Prepared for the 2000-2020 General Plan and on file with the Development
Services Department for GPA-2020-00589 and has determined that the actions
contemplated will not have an adverse impact on the environment.
3. The City Council hereby adopts the Environmental Impact Report Addendum for GPA-
2020-00589 as referred to the City Council by the Planning Commission.
4. The City Council hereby adopts the amendments to the General Plan Housing Element
pertaining to GPA-2020-00589 as referred to the City Council by the Planning
Commission.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced and adopted at a regular
meeting of the City Council of the City of Redding on the 2nd day of June, 2020, by the
following vote:
