AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING AMENDING REDDING MUNICIPAL CODE CHAPTER 2.56 RELATING TO RECREATION AND PARRS. The City Council of the City of Redding does ordain as follows: Section 1. Redding Municipal Code Chapter 2. 56, Recreation and Parks Commission, is amended as follows: I . The title of Chapter 2.56 is amended to read as follows: RECREATION AND PARKS COMMISSION; OPERATIONS. II . Section 2 . 56.120 is amended to read as follows: 2. 56.120 Use of Park and Recreational Facilities; Activities Agreements. A. Any and all persons or organizations desiring to: 1 . use any part or portion of the park and recreational facilities of the City for an organized activity or event; or 2. operate a concession in connection with or upon any portion of the park and recreational facilities of the City; or 3 . instruct a City recreation-sponsored class; or 4. any youth organization receiving budget-approved funding from the City to offset its costs and expenses incurred in providing referees, umpires, and related contractual responsibilities in connection with the various types of sports and recreation activities participated in within the framework of the City' s recreational programs, shall apply to the Director of Parks and Recreation for a permit, agreement, lease, or funding for such activity. B. The Director shall administer the issuance or denial of such requests in accordance with the ordinances of the City and the regulations and policies established in \, connection therewith by the City Council and the Parks and Recreation Commission. ,V :ter C. In connection with such administration, the City Council herein expressly authorizes the Director of Parks and Recreation or his supervisor to execute for and on behalf of the City all such funding and service agreements, concession leases, and park use permits, approved as to form by the City Attorney, provided the terms and conditions thereof are consistent with ordinances, resolutions, regulations, and policies in effect at the time of such execution, and provided further that funding agreements do not exceed $25,000 and are included in the adopted budget. Section 2. All other provisions of Chapter 2.56 remain in full force and effect. Section 3 This Ordinance shall take effect 30 days after the date of its adoption. Section 4 The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance and cause its publication according to law.
