ORDINANCE NO. 2202
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDDING
AMENDING PORTIONS OF REDDING MUNICIPAL
CODE CHAPTER 16.05, PARK FUND FEES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1 . Findings of Fact:
The projected rates and charges set forth in this ordinance are necessary to cover the
increased costs of the planning, acquisition, improvement and expansion of public parks,
playgrounds, and recreational facilities to meet the growing population of the city, and the
means of providing additional revenues with which to finance such public facilities.
Section 2. Redding Municipal Code Chapter 16.05, Park Funds, is amended as
follows:
A. Section 16.05.010, Park Fund Fee, is amended to read as follows:
A fee for each residential building permit shall be paid to the city as required by this
section, except for permits issued covering work performed on buildings or structures owned by
any city, county, state, or federal agency, or any public agency or district. The funds shall be
collected by the city treasurer no later than the time of final inspection of the work permitted,
and shall be placed in a designated park development fund.

OO Beginning July 1, 1999, and on every July 1 thereafter, the fee will automatically increase by an
amount which is calculated by multiplying the most recent fee in effect by the percentage increase
over the previous 12 months immediately preceding the most recent publication of the Engineering
News Record Construction Cost Index existing on July 1 of the year of the increase. Fees shall not
decrease below the level of rates existing on January 1, 1999.
Section 3. Redding Municipal Code Section 16.05.040, Refunds, is repealed.
Section 4. The passage of this ordinance is not a "project" according to the
definition in the California Environmental Quality Act, and therefore
is not subject to the provisions requiring environmental review.
Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect 60 days after the date of its adoption,
and the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption thereof and cause its
publication according to law.

Council at a regular meeting on the 2nd day of December, 1997; and was duly read and adopted
at a regular meeting on the 16th day of December, 1997, by the following vote:
