HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 2182 - Amend Title 11.04.040 ORDINANCE NO. oZ) r2— AN ZAN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING AMENDING REDDING MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 11.04.040, WHEN VEHICLES TO BE REMOVED. Section 1. Section 11.04.040 of the Redding Municipal Code is amended to read as follows [the changes are underlined]: 11.04.040 When vehicles to be removed from streets, or from any off-street parking facility owned or operated by the city. A. Any regularly employed and salaried officer of the police department of the city may remove or cause to be removed the following: 1. Any vehicle that has been parked or left standing on a street or alley for more than a consecutive period of 120 hours; 2. Any vehicle which is parked or left standing on a street or alley, or any portion thereof, when the use of the street or alley is authorized for a purpose other than the normal flow of traffic, or for the movement of equipment, articles or structures of unusual size, and the parking of the vehicles would prohibit or interfere with the use or movement; provided that signs giving notice that the vehicles may be removed are erected or placed at least 24 hours prior to the removal. 3. Any vehicle which is parked or left standing in any off-street parking facility owned or operated by the city for more than 30 consecutive days, provided that -icuously_nlaced signs giving notice that vehicles may be removed are erected at least 30 days prior to the implementation of this provision. t� B. Removal of any such vehicle shall be to a garage designated by the chief of police r' and shall be in accordance with the requirements of the California Vehicle Code. o� Section 2. The passage of this ordinance is a ministerial project as defined under section /v 15268 of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines and is exempt from the requirements of CEQA. Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect 30 days after the date of its adoption, and the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption thereof and cause its publication according to law.
