Home My WebLink AboutOrdinance 2252 - Amend Title 2 S ORDINANCE NO. 2,252— AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING AMENDING PORTIONS OF CHAPTER 2.17, GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Redding Municipal Code Section 2.17.010 is amended to read as follows: 2.17.010. General Municipal Election—Consolidation. Beginning with the first Tuesday in November 2000, the City of Redding's general municipal election shall be consolidated with and held on the same day as the statewide general election. The time in which to file as a candidate for the general municipal election shall be the same as that for the statewide general election. Section 2. Redding Municipal Code Section 2.17.020 is repealed. Section 3. The passage of this ordinance is not a "project" according to the definition in the California Environmental Quality Act, and therefore is not subject to the provisions requiring environmental review. Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect 30 days after the date of its adoption, and the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption thereof and cause its publication according to law.
