A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 73-43, AND FURTHER PROVIDING FOR
THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS FOR PARKING IN CITY -OWNED OR
CITY -OPERATED PARKING LOTS, AND ON STREETS DESIGNATED AS
ON -STREET PERMIT PARKING AREAS.
WHEREAS, City Council adopted Resolution No. 73-43 on
April 16, 1973, which provided for quarterly permit use of
off-street parking meters in ten hour zones only, expressly
excepting the north section of the Tehama Street municipal
parking lot, and designating the City Clerk of the City of
Redding as the person authorized to issue such permits; and
WHEREAS, City Council now wishes to establish different
regulations and rates pursuant to Redding Municipal Code Section
11.28.070;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Redding as follows:
1. Resolution No. 73-43 adopted on April 16, 1973, is
hereby rescinded.
2. The City Clerk of the City of Redding, or her duly
authorized subordinate, is hereby authorized to issue permits for
parking in Parking Lots 1 through 6 and 8 through 12, which allow
purchasers (permittees) the non-exclusive right to park in said
Parking Lots in the areas designated as permit parking areas.
Permits are valid for designated on -street areas also.

3. The parking permits authorized for issuance in
paragraph 2 above for Parking Lots 1 through 6, 11, and 12 shall
be issued on a quarterly basis, and shall be valid for a maximum
period of three months. The permits shall be color -coded for
easy identification by enforcement personnel, with a
distinguishing color for each calendar quarter of a year; and the
year of its issuance shall be imprinted upon the permit. The
permittee shall pay a permit fee for said permit as follows:
(a) Thirty Dollars ($30.00) for the full calendar quarter
of the year in which the permit is issued, or any
fraction thereof in excess of two months, after date of
application therefor.
(b) Twenty Dollars ($20.00) for the fraction of a calendar
quarter of the year amounting to more than one month,
but not more than two months remaining as of the date
of application therefor.
(c) Ten Dollars ($10.00) for that fraction of a calendar
quarter of a year amounting to one month or less
remaining as of the date of application therefor.
4. The parking permits authorized for issuance in
paragraph 2 above for Parking Lots 8, 9, and 10 shall be issued
on a quarterly basis, and shall be valid for a maximum period of
three months. The permits shall be color -coded for easy
identification by enforcement personnel, with a distinguishing
color for each calendar quarter of a year; and the year of its
issuance shall be imprinted upon the permit. The permittee shall
pay a permit fee for said permit as follows:
(a) Forty-five Dollars ($45.00) for the full calendar
quarter of the year in which the permit is issued, or
any fraction thereof in excess of two months, after
date of application therefor.

(b) Thirty Dollars ($30.00) for the fraction of a calendar
quarter of the year amounting to more than one month,
but not more than two months remaining as of the date
of application therefor.
(c) Twenty Dollars ($20.00) for that fraction of a calendar
quarter of a year amounting to one month or less
remaining as of the date of application therefor.
5. Holders of parking permits may park on streets in areas
so designated by appropriate signs. The attached exhibit
(Figure 5, Recommended Permit Parking Streets) sets out those
areas to be designated as on -street permit parking areas.
6. The permittee shall affix the permit to the lower
right-hand corner of the front windshield of his vehicle. Unless
the permit is so affixed by the permittee, it shall have no force
or effect.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
introduced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Redding on the 6th day of December, 1988, and was duly
adopted at said meeting by the following vote:
