HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - City Council - 2007-04-16 - Special Meeting 83 City Council, Special Meeting Council Chambers 777 Cypress Avenue Redding, California April 16, 2007 5:15 p.m. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Dickerson with the following Council Members present: Bosetti, Jones, and Stegall. Council Member Murray arrived at the meeting at 5:20 p.m. I Also present were City Manager Starman, City Attorney Duvernay, Assistant City Manager Bachman, City Clerk Strohmayer, and Executive Assistant Brown. At the hour of5:46 p.m., Mayor Dickerson announced that the City Council would adjourn to closed session to discuss the following: Closed session pursuant to California Government Code Section 54957: PUBLIC EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE EVALUATION Title: City Manager (A-050-080) Closed session pursuant to California Government Code Section 54957.6: CONFERENCE WITH LABOR NEGOTIATOR Designated Agency Representative: Mayor Dickerson Unrepresented Employees: City Manager and City Attorney (A-050-080/ A-050-050/P-l 00-050-1 00) I At the hour of8:30 p.m., Mayor Dickerson reconvened the Special Meeting to open session and reported that with respect to the City Manager's performance it was determined to be "above average." He stated that with regard to the conference with labor negotiator regarding unrepresented employees, the City Council authorized a 3% increase to the City Manager's and the City Attorney's salaries effective May 21,2007. Consideration of Modification( s) to City Manager's Employment Contract (A-050-080) MOTION: Made by Council Member Stegall, seconded by Council Member Jones, approving the First Amendment to the Employment Agreement with Kurt Starman amending Section 2.A to provide a salary of$178,000 per year effective May 21,2007, and Section 14, . to provide salary increases in the month of May, annually, through ten years of service, effective April 16, 2007. The Vote: Unanimous Ayes Consideration ofModification(s) to the City Attorney's Contract (A-050-050) MOTION: Made by Council Member Stegall, seconded by Council Member Jones, approving the Third Amendment to the Employment Agreement with Richard A. Duvernay amending Section 20 (relative to performance bonuses) deleting it in its entirety effective April 17, 2007.
