HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - City Council - 2006-01-31 - Special Meeting I I I 25 City Council, Special Meeting Council Chambers 777 Cypress Avenue Redding, California January 31, 2006 10:00 a.m. The special meeting was called to order by Mayor Murray with the following Council Members present: Dickerson, Mathena, Pohlmeyer and Stegall. Also present were City Manager Warren, City Attorney Duvernay, Assistant City Attorney DeWalt, Deputy City Manager Bachman, and Personnel Director Johnson. At the hour of 10:00 p.m., Mayor Murray announced that the City Council would adjourn to closed session to discuss the following: 2. Closed session pursuant to California Government Code Section 54957: PUBLIC EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE EVALUATION Title: City Attorney (A-050-050) 3. Closed session pursuant to California Government Code Section 54957.6: CONFERENCE WITH LABOR NEGOTIATOR Designated Agency Representative: Mayor Murray Unrepresented Employees: City Attorney (A-050-050 & P-100-050-100) 4. Closed session pursuant to California Government Code Section 54957: PUBLIC EMPLOYMENT Title: City Manager (A-050-080 & P-100-060) 5. Closed session pursuant to California Government Code Section 54957.6: CONFERENCE WITH LABOR NEGOTIATOR Designated Agency Representative: Personnel Director Johnson Employee Organization: Peace Officers Association of Redding (P-100-050-120) At the hour of 1 :20 p.m., Mayor Murray reconvened the Special Meeting to open session and advised that there was no reportable action taken on the closed session items. POSSIBLE MODIFICATION TO CITY ATTORNEY'S EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT (A-050-050) MOTION: Made by Council Member Pohlmeyer, seconded by Council Member Dickerson, approving the 2nd Amendment to the City Attorney's Employment Contract as follows: 1. Amending Section 2.A to provide $150,000 annual salary subject to adjustment and shall exceed the salary of the highest paid employee supervised by the City Attorney by 10%; Amending Section 14.A that a cost-of-living salary adjustment equal to the amount periodically granted to other executive management employees and may be increased by the City Council pursuant to the Salary Plan set forth in the 2nd Amendment to the Employee Contract; The Salary Plan set forth in Section 14.A shall end after nine (9) years of service; 2. 3. and approving a one (1) time bonus in the amount of $5,000 in accordance with Section 20 of the Employment Contract. The Vote: Unanimous Ayes 1/31/2006 26 ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, at the hour of 1 :40 p.m., Mayor Murray declared the meeting adjourned.
