HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2018-127 - Airport Improvement Program RESOLUTION NO. 2018-127 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF A FEDERAL GRANT APPLICATION FOR ENTITLEMENT AIRPORT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (AIP) GRANT MONIES TO ACCOMPLISH CAPITAL PROJECTS AT REDDING MUNICIPAL AIRPORT AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE THE APPLICATION AND ALL SUBSEQUENT DOCUMENTATION TO OBTAIN FAA GRANT MONIES AND MATCHING FUNDS WHEREAS, the FAA District Office has recommended that applications for unencumbered Airport improvement Program (AIP) Entitlement Grand Funds be submitted; and WHEREAS, there is a significant need for the Reconstruction of Runway 16 Blast Pad and Taxiway "H" and Magnetic Variation Improvements; the Reconstruction of the Terminal/Airport Loop Access Road, Flight Avenue, Municipal Blvd., and Air Cargo Road; and the New PAPI for Runway 30; and Interactive Video Training System; and WHEREAS, the Airports Manager has recommended that the City apply for U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration, AIP Grants in the amount of $11,150,000 to accomplish the projects outlined in Exhibit A, a true copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Redding that a Federal AIP grant be acquired; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that for the projects outlined in Exhibit A, the City Council of the City of Redding hereby authorizes: 1. The filing of an application for an FAA Airport Improvement Program Entitlement Grant; and 3) 2. The City Manager, or his designee, on behalf of the City of Redding, to execute the FAA Application form, including the acceptance of the Grant Offer, to obtain the necessary C' FAA funding to complete the project identified in Exhibit A; and cC 3. The City Clerk to attest the signature of the City Manager, or his designee, and to impress the official seals of the City of Redding on the aforesaid documentation, when J appropriate.
