AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDDING, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING
ORDINANCE NO. 1295, IN ORDER TO MAKE MINOR CLERICAL
CORRECTIONS TO THE LEGAL DESCRIPTION OF THE BOUNDARIES
OF THE AMENDED PROJECT AREA FOR THE REDDING MIDTOWN PROJECT
NO. I
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redding (hereafter the "Council")
adopted Ordinance No. 1295 on November 29, 1976, effective on December 29, 1976,
approving and adopting Amendment No. 2 (hereafter the "Amendment") to the
Redevelopment Plan for the Redding Midtown Project No. I (hereafter the "Redevelop-
ment Plan"); and
WHEREAS, said Amendment, attached to Ordinance No. 1295 and incorporated
by reference therein, includes a legal description of the amended project area
boundaries which contains minor and inadvertent errors in the designation of
block numbers which the Council now desires to correct;
follows:
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Redding does ordain as
Section 1. The legal description of the amended project area boundaries
contained on the first page of Amendment No. 2 to the Redevelopment Plan for the
Midtown Project No. I, California R-120, as adopted by the Council by Ordinance No.
1295 on November 29, 1976 is hereby amended as set forth in Exhibit A attached
hereto and made a part hereof by reference.
Section 2. Ordinance No. 1295 is continued in full force and effect as
amended by this Ordinance. The Council does hereby find and determine that the
corrections of the legal description made by this Ordinance are technical and
minor, do not make any substantive changes in Ordinance No. 1295, and do not affect
the notice, public hearing, or other matters involved in the adoption of Ordinance
No. 1295, in that the amended project boundaries have at all times been clearly
indicated by maps and general descriptions.
Section 3. This ordinance is an urgency ordinance effective on December
29, 1976, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and
safety. The facts constituting the urgency are as follows: The City Council
adopted Ordinance No. 1295 on November 29, 1976, finding that it is necessary and
desirable to amend the Redevelopment Plan in order to effectuate the redevelopment
-1-
of the existing project area, to promote the public peace, health, safety and
welfare, and to implement the public purposes of the Community Redevelopment Law,
in Health and Safety Code Sections 33000 et seq. It is necessary that this
Ordinance be effective on December 29, 1976, in order that Ordinance No. 1295 be
correct in all respects when said ordinance becomes effective, in order that
filings relating to the adoption of Ordinance No. 1295, which are required to be
made prior to January 1, 1977, be promptly and accurately made, and in order that
the execution of the Redevelopment Project not be interrupted or unduly delayed.
Section 4. The City Clerk is hereby ordered and directed to certify to
the passage of this Ordinance and to cause it to be published once in the Redding
Record Searchlight, a newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated
