HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2018-048 - Surplus Land RESOLUTION NO. 2018-048 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING DECLARING LAND LOCATED AT 4205 WESTSIDE ROAD (APN 108- 080-049) AND A PORTION OF LAND LOCATED AT 4255 WESTSIDE ROAD (APN 108-080-052) AS SURPLUS PROPERTY, SUBJECT TO THE RETENTION OF AN EASEMENT(S) FOR PUBLIC SERVICE AND UTILITY PURPOSES WHEREAS, the City owns a parcel of land comprising approximately .54 acres of land located at 4205 Westside Road (the "Property"); and WHEREAS, the City owns a parcel of land comprising approximately .43 acres of land located at 4255 Westside Road (the "Property"); and WHEREAS, the City of Redding acquired the parcel at 4205 Westside Road in December 1990; and WHEREAS, the City has determined that there is not a need to retain the entire property at 4205 Westside Road for public purposes, as there is no City use for said property; and WHEREAS, the City of Redding acquired parcel at 4255 Westside Road in April 1963 where Fire House No. 3 is located; and WHEREAS, Fire Chief Gerry Gray has determined that there is adequate space with the reconfiguration of the merged properties on the proposed configuration map to adequately operate emergency vehicles such as fire engines; and WHEREAS, any sale of the subject property would require the retention of an easement(s) for public service and utility purposes, specifically for use of Fire Department vehicles; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council FINDS, RESOLVES, and ORDERS as follows: 1. The above recitals are true and correct; 2. The Property is hereby declared surplus, subject to the retention of an easement for public service purposes; 3. The City Manager has authorization, during any property negotiations, to move the c boundary lines and thereby merging the property at 4205 Westside Road with a portion of the property at 4255 Westside Road; and c_ 4. Sale of the Property by the City is categorically exempt from the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Section 15312 of the CEQA Guidelines (Surplus Government Property Sales). I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced at a regular meeting of the Redding City Council on the 5th day of June, 2018, and was duly adopted at said meeting by the following vote: AYES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: McElvain, Sullivan,Weaver, Winter, & Schreder NOES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: None ABSENT: COUNCIL MEMBERS: None ABSTAIN: COUNCIL MEMBERS: None KRISTEN SCHREDER, Mayor ATTEST: APPROVED AS TO FORM: PAMELA MIZ -City Clerk BARRY E.
