CAI o R M A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF REDDING COMMENDING
BRIAN F. CRANE FOR OUTSTANDING DEDICATED
SERVICE TO THE CITY OF REDDING
WHEREAS,Brian F.Crane began his career with the City of Redding on May 27,2008,and served
as the Director of Transportation and Engineering; Director of Public Works, Executive Director of the
Redding Area Bus Authority(RABA),and as Acting Assistant City Manager;and
WHEREAS,Mr.Crane effectively and expertly managed the direction,organization,and operation
of the assigned City of Redding's departments;and
WHEREAS, Mr. Crane provided exceptional leadership in his many roles, most notably as the
Director of Public Works,and was instrumental in accomplishing the following:
• Managed RABA—implementation of two Transit Plans;added four new routes;and secured revenue
contracts with Shasta College,Bethel Church,and IASCO;
• Oversight of the Redding Municipal Utilities beginning in June of 2010, and Solid Waste, Fleet
Maintenance, and Airports in 2016, effectively improving internal relations, operations, and
productivity;
• Completion of more than 400 Capital projects totaling more than$450,000,000;
• Cypress Avenue Bridge Replacement Project;
• Diestelhorst Bridge Rehabilitation Project;
• South Bonnyview Road Widening;
• Major expansion/rehabilitation of both wastewater treatment plants;
• Doubled capacity at the Buckeye Water Treatment Plant;
• Progress toward Downtown Revitalization;
• Costco Relocation Development;
• Redding Area Water Council Improvement and successfully handling drought issues;
• Formation of the Groundwater Sustainability Agency;
• Formation and consolidation of numerous Landscape Maintenance Districts;
• Creation of the Mayor's Mountain Bike Challenge;
• Two revisions of the Development Impact Fee Program;
• Secured more than$183,986,902 in state and federal grants;and
WHEREAS, Brian F. Crane has performed his duties with pride, integrity, and accountability,
always looking out for the welfare of the organization and City residents.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redding hereby
expresses its deep appreciation to Brian F.Crane for his dedication and the many contributions he has made
to the City of Redding and its citizens,and wishes him future success and happiness as he retires from public
service.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced and read at a regular meeting
of the City Council of the City of Redding on the 5th day of June 2018,and was duly adopted at said meeting
by the following vote:
