A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR, OR HIS
DESIGNEE, THE AUTHORITY TO EXECUTE RIGHT OF WAY
CERTIFICATIONS FOR FEDERAL-AID LOCAL ASSISTANCE
PROJECTS
WHEREAS, a separate Right of Way Certification must be submitted to Caltrans by the
Department of Public Works for each Federal-aid Local Assistance Project or other grant funded
projects; and
WHEREAS, Section 17.08.14.11 of the Caltrans Right of Way Local Program Manual states in
part that the local public agency (i.e. City of Redding) may execute a resolution giving
responsible agency official blanket authority to execute all certifications; and
WHEREAS, this designation is intended to streamline the certification process and avoid the
necessity of City Council Resolution of each Right of Way Certification;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL DETERMINES, RESOLVES, AND
ORDERS AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Council hereby authorizes the Director of Public Works the authority to execute
Right of Way Certifications for federal-aid local assistance projects or other grant funded
projects and that his designee shall be the designated alternate with authority to execute Right of
Way Certifications for federal-aid local assistance projects or other grant funded projects in the
absence of the Director of Public Works.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced and adopted at a regular
meeting of the Redding City Council on the 1st day of May, 2018,by the following vote:

NOES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCIL MEMBERS: None
ABSTAIN: COUNCIL MEMBERS: None
