RESOLUTION NO. 2018-023
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
SUMMARILY VACATING A PORTION OF THE 32 FOOT WIDE
PUBLIC UTILITY EASEMENT AS SHOWN ON PARCEL MAP NO. 148-
80, RECORDED IN BOOK 21 OF PARCEL MAPS AT PAGE 80, SHASTA
COUNTY RECORDS (ABANDONMENT APPLICATION A-2018-00142)
WHEREAS:
A. The portion of the Public Utility Easement being considered for summary vacation was
acquired by the recordation of Parcel Map No. 148-80, recorded on December 31, 1980,
in Book 21 of Parcel Maps, Page 80, Shasta County records;
B. This portion of the Public Utility Easement has not been used for the purpose for which it
was dedicated or acquired. Therefore, the owners of the affected properties has asked that
the City vacate this portion of the Public Utility Easement, described in Exhibit "A" and
shown hatched on Exhibit"B" attached and made a part hereof by reference;
C. The summary vacation falls within the criteria of CEQA Section 15305 and is
categorically exempt.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL DETERMINES, RESOLVES,AND
ORDERS AS FOLLOWS:
1. The City Council elects to proceed in this matter under the provisions of the California
Streets and Highways Code, Section 8333.
2. The City Council approves the request to summarily vacate the portion of the Public
Utility Easement as described in Exhibit"A" and shown hatched on Exhibit "B."

3. This portion of the Public Utility Easement has not been used for the purpose for which it
was dedicated or acquired for five consecutive years immediately preceding this vacation.
4. This proposed vacation would not result in any significant environmental impacts and
falls within the criteria of a CEQA Section 15305 and is categorically exempt.
5. The City Clerk is directed to cause a certified copy of this resolution of vacation, attested
by the Clerk under seal, to be recorded in the office of the Shasta County
Assessor/Recorder.
I HEREBY CERTIFY, that the foregoing resolution was introduced and adopted at a regular
meeting of the Redding City Council on the 20th day of March, 2018, by the following vote.

SUMMARY VACATION
All that certain real property situate in the City of Redding, County of Shasta, State of
California, more particularly described as follows:
All of that 32.00 foot strip of land being the Southerly 32.00 feet of that 64.00 foot wide
strip as shown as a Public Utility Easement on Parcel Map No. 148-80, recorded in Book
21 of Parcel Maps at Page 80(21 PM 80), Shasta County Records.
Excepting therefrom that portion of the above described 32.00 feet strip that falls within
Parcel 4 per(21 PM 80).
Also excepting therefrom that portion of the above described 32.00 foot strip lying within
the Easterly 20.0 feet of Parcel 4 of that Parcel Map recorded in Book 29 at Page 19,
Shasta County Records.
