A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
SUMMARILY VACATING A PORTION OF BODENHAMER
BOULEVARD, CHANDON COURT AND ADJACENT PUBLIC SERVICE
EASEMENT (ABANDONMENT APPLICATION A-2017-01241)
WHEREAS:
A. The portion being considered for summary vacation was acquired by the recordation of
the Hidden Hills Subdivision in Book 19 of Maps, Page 79 and Parcel Map 7-02 in Book
35 of Parcel Maps, Page 24;
B. The portion of the street rights-of-way and the public service easement has not been used
for the purpose for which they were dedicated and have been determined to be excess.
Therefore, the owner of the property has asked that the City vacate this portion of the
street right-of-way and public service easement, described in Exhibit "A" and Exhibit
"A-1" and shown hatched on Exhibit"B" attached and made a part hereof by reference;
C. The City is RETAINING a public-service easement over the portion of described in
Exhibit "A-2" and shown hatched on Exhibit"B-2;"
D. The street closure falls within the criteria of CEQA Section 15305 and is categorically
exempt;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL DETERMINES, RESOLVES, AND
ORDERS AS FOLLOWS:
1. The City Council elects to proceed in this matter under the provisions of the California
Streets and Highways Code, Section 8333 and 8334.
2. The City Council approves the request to summarily vacate the portion of right-of-way
and public service easement as described in Exhibit "A" and Exhibit "A-1" and shown
hatched on Exhibit "B."
3. The portion of street right-of-way and public service easement has not been used for the
purpose for which it was dedicated and is determined to be excess.
4. This proposed vacation would not result in any significant environmental impacts and
falls within the criteria of a CEQA Section 15305 and is categorically exempt.
5. The City reserves and excepts from the vacation a public-service easement for the
purpose of erecting, installing, constructing, removing, repairing, replacing,
reconstructing, maintaining and using for public-service purposes any and all materials,
fixtures, appliances, equipment, pipes pipelines, wires, and cables (including fiber optics)
necessary for the transmission , distribution, and delivery of electricity, water, sewer,
storm water, gas, cable television, communication, and information service utilities over,
along, upon, under, and across the parcel of real property described in Exhibit "A-2" and
shown hatched on Exhibit "B-2."
6. The City Clerk is directed to cause a certified copy of this resolution of vacation, attested
by the Clerk under seal, to be recorded in the office of the Shasta County
Assessor/Recorder.

meeting of the Redding City Council on the 16th day of January, 2018, by the following vote:

Abandonment Bodenhamer Blvd.
All that property situate in the Northwest one-quarter of Section 29, T.32N., R.4W., M.D.M., in
the City of Redding, Shasta County,California described as follows:
A portion of the Bodenhamer Blvd. right of way dedicated to the City of Redding on June 8,
1990 by that certain map of Hidden Hills Subdivision, Unit 1, recorded in Book 19 of Maps,
Page 79, Shasta County Records and a portion of the Chandon Ct. right of way dedicated to the
City of Redding on December 11, 2003 by that certain parcel map recorded in Book 35 of Parcel
Maps,at Page 24, Shasta County Records more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the Southwest corner of Parcel 1 of said map recorded in Book 35 of Parcel Maps,
at Page 24; thence N88°21'56"W 17.61 feet; thence N00°52'38"W 28.34 feet; thence on a tangent
curve concave to the West,having a central angle of 11°39'42", a radius of 780.42 feet and an arc
length of 158.84 feet; thence on a reverse curve concave to the Southeast, which tangent bears
N12°32'20"W,having a central angle of 104'10'24", a radius of 40.00 feet and an arc length of
72.73 feet; thence S88°21'56"E 2.95 feet to a point hereinafter referred to as point `A'; thence on
a curve concave to the Southeast, which tangent bears N88°21'56"W, having a central angle of
111°20'36", a radius of 30.00 feet and an arc length of 58.30 feet;thence a a reverse curve
concave to the West, which tangent bears S 19°42'32"E,having a central angle of 18°49'54" and
an arc length of 119.97 feet; thence S00°52'38"E 77.31 feet to the point of beginning.

Abandonment of Public Service Easement
All that property situate in the Northwest one-quarter of Section 29, T.32N., R.4W., M.D.M., in
the City of Redding, Shasta County, California described as follows:
A portion of the 5.00 foot public service easement shown on Parcel 1 of that certain map
recorded in Book 35 of Parcel Maps at Page 24, Shasta County Records lying Easterly of the
following described line:
Beginning at the Southwest corner of said Parcel 1; thene along the Easterly right of way line of
Bodenhamer Blvd.,N00°52'38"W 77.31 feet; thence on a tangent curve concave to the West,
having a central angle of 18°49'54", a radius of 365.00 feet and an arc length of 119.97 feet;
thence on a reverse curve concave to the Southeast, which tangent bears N19°42'32"W, having a
central angle of 58°00'38", a radius of 30.00 feet and an arc length of 30.37 feet to a point
hereinafter called point 'A' and the termination of this line.
Easterly line of said Public Service Easement to be extended or shortened to coincide with
adjacent property lines.

lying adjacent to and Easterly of the following described line: Beginning at a point distant

December 11,2003 in Book 35 of Parcel Maps at Page 24, Shasta County Records; thence
N00°52'38"W 28.34 feet; thence on a tangent curve concave to the West, having a central angle
