A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF A FEDERAL GRANT APPLICATION
FOR ENTITLEMENT AIRPORT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (AIP)
GRANT MONIES AND STATE OF CALIFORNIA DIVISION OF
AERONAUTICS STATE MATCHING GRANT TO ACCOMPLISH
PROJECTS AT BENTON AIRPARK AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE THE APPLICATIONS
AND ALL SUBSEQUENT DOCUMENTATION TO OBTAIN FAA GRANT
MONIES AND MATCHING FUNDS
WHEREAS, the FAA District Office has recommended that applications for
unencumbered Airport Improvement Program (AIP) Entitlement Grant Funds be submitted; and
WHEREAS, there is a significant need for the Rehabilitation of Parallel Taxiway "B"
and Construction of a Perimeter Service Road at Benton Airpark; and
WHEREAS, the Airports Manager has recommended that the City apply for U.S.
Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration, AIP Grants in the amount of
$1,044.000 to accomplish the projects outlined in Exhibit A, a true copy of which is attached
hereto and incorporated herein, and to obtain matching State of California Grant Funds in the
estimated amount of$52,200; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Redding that Federal AIP and State
grants be acquired;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that for the project outlined in Exhibit A,
the City Council of the City of Redding hereby authorizes:
1. The filing of an application for an FAA Airport Improvement Program Entitlement Grant Q-)
and State of California Division Aeronautics matching grant;
2. The City Manager, or his designee, on behalf of the City of Redding, to execute the FAA
and State Application forms, including the Acceptance of the Grant Offers, to obtain the
necessary FAA funding and State funding to complete the project identified in Exhibit A; (C
and
3. The City Clerk to attest the signature of the City Manager, or his designee, and to impress
the official seals of the City of Redding on the aforesaid documentation, when
appropriate.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced and adopted at a
regular meeting of the city Council on the 19th day of December, 2017, by the following vote:
